Was recently quoted $660 installed for a set of Rubitreks (265/70r16).
    Still happy with them?

Lawfarin i also work at the plant and bought the rubs from the koish last year for my tacoma but didnt think they did good in the snow im think of doing the wildpeak at3w for my tundra but not sure yet. There is a lot of silica in the wildpeak just want to find out how good they are in the snow. Talked to a lot of guys at the plant and im at 50/50 with how good they are in snow

My honest opinion is I don’t think they (Wildpeaks) are great in the rain/snow. The Rubitrex are basically the same tire with less silica in the compound I believe. Been years since I had the KO’s and I thought they were better, Atleast in the snow. The silica is supposedly what gives the tire a lot of wet traction. The old timers are always bitching about how much silica is in the tire. Can’t beat them for the price though. And hopefully we keep selling a shit ton of them to secure our jobs in the plant

Thats how i feel about the rubs. We are always making the rubber for wildpeaks down here so we should be good for a while. The price is great but I really need something to get through the snow especially when im going down to camp.

Is your truck 4wd? If so, shouldn’t have any problems. I mean the tires will go through the snow, but I don’t think the traction is as good as what some people think it is. When it’s wet around Sheridan at the tracks or jumping on the 190 ramp my truck usually slides a bit. A lot more than it with the the factory Goodyear’s and I went up in size, so it should have more traction. I was thinking of trying out the Rubitrex if they were available next time around. I have around 30k on my Wildpeaks and the tread depth is getting low. Still debating if I’m gonna get a new set before winter or not.

Yes 4x4. They go through snow but not as good as I thought they would a lot of slide. I had blizzaks before and they are very good but was hoping to support our plant

Blizzaks are a snow tire, and made strictly for snow and ice though. Our tires are all terrain. Maybe add some weight in the bed for winter if your having some traction issues. If I start having issues when the snow comes in just gonna grab a new set.
