I bought this vehicle with a good title but it was torn apart, literally on the inside and needs quite a bit of body work. When I picked it up, every module was ripped from the vehicle and it only had seats, carpet and wiring. Even the headliner was ripped out. - aftermarket Katzkin - aftermarket rear heated seats - upgraded sound system - Dynamat throughout.
I'm trying to install my third brake light and I got everything loosely wired up.

MESO sent me a harness with a connector that fits the factory connector but only has 2 wires on it. One is 12v+ for the bed lights and one is 12v+ for the brake lights.

The pin for the ground is in the connector MESO provided but there is no wire attached for the ground. They also included a third ring connector which I am assuming is supposed to be for ground instead of using the low awg wire on the factory harness.

Unfortunately I didn't get any instructions, and I have already searched this forum for an hour as well as Google and YouTube for detailed instructions. Found a lot of info but not what I'm looking for.

I found people with the Baja lights needing to hook up an extra ground and I saw dozens of other posts where people have a different connector than I have, so I couldn't find anything that helped.

I'm trying to figure out where I should be grounding the lights? Should I run it all the way down the C pillar to a seat bracket? Seems over kill, no? It seems that a lot of guys just used the factory ground but I'm assuming I'm not supposed to otherwise the connector would have a wire attached for ground.

I know this is a bad pic, but the three red wires twisted together on the right, are the three leads for the red brake lights.

The 2 red wires to the left of those three twisted wires are the 2 leads for the clear bed lights.

All of the black grounds for all 5 lights have been twisted together and unfortunately I prematurely crimped on the ring connector. I will have to remove it to run the ground down the C pillar of that's what I have to do.

Under the black wires in the photo, laying on the table is the connector MESO sent with 2 wires only, not 3.

Ps, I have contacted MESO but I know they are swamped so I was hoping to get a quicker response here.
