Nice, if that is the same one I'm thinking, that is a great campsite.

Last I was up there someone dropped a bunch of rocks in the trail.

Welcome! There are a few of us that get together for a monthly meet, the first Thursday of the month. We also try and get out and run some trails and camp.

I've heard rumors and seen a few very nicely outfitted tacomas around ABQ and the local trails. Never actually met up with the group though. Looks fun

I don't think I have much else going on that weekend so I'd be interested.

Had a fun backroad/off-road Northern New Mexico adventure today. Following part of the NMBDR and other backroads. 240 miles total with ~60 miles of dirt.

Taos ➡️ El Rito ➡️ Abiquiu ➡️ Coyote ➡️ Fenton lake ➡️ Jemez Springs ➡️ Corrales (home)

El Rito to Abiquiu via FS 122 and 23 was fun. Roads were unmarked (I love my Gaia map app), muddy deeply rutted and rocky. Proper off-roading, even had to use 4wd a some.

FS 172 and 103 south from near Coyote were really cool, teakettle rock was really neat. I’d never been to that part of the Sante Fe NF. I will be exploring there again.

now it’s time for a wash!

Hey NM crew. Anybody know a good welder in NM or Colorado that you trust?

My mid travel suspension is in need of rebuilding. As such I was thinking this might be the time to upgrade my rear suspension. I was thinking about ordering a rear shock relocate kit and getting 12” shocks. But I would need someone who welds and knows Tacoma’s well enough to be able to clock the lower tabs correctly.

There is a local guy that runs a fab shop (https://owlexpedition.com) out of his garage I be he'd be able to help you out and if not I'm sure he can point you in the right direction. He welded @TacoIII sliders on not too long ago and seems to have done a great job. Shoot me a PM and I can give you his number if you're interested.

I know you have a few good suggestions already, but I can do it if you need. I have a small fab shop down by Ruidoso.

Like STravis said, not to take you away from another fab shop but if he’s not too far out of the way for you I’d recommend him. Has experience with Tacomas and did awesome with my cab mount relocate.

Agreed @STravis is a good option too if he's not too far.
