New stereo install. I really just wanted carplay, but pioneer HU's are legit. Pictures and details below.

    Stereo Installation experience: None
    Truck: 2017 Tacoma SR5
    OG Stereo: Non JBL
    New Stereo: Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX
    Install time: 3.5 hours

    Adapters:
Dash: American International TOYK9714 Dash Kit
    Aux: Crutchfield RCA Adapter
Radio Antenna: Metra 40-LX11 Antenna Adapter
USB: Metra AX-TOYUSB USB Port Cable

Interface: iDatalink Maestro RR Interface Module
Interface Harness: iDatalink HRN-RR-TO2 Factory Integration Adapter

    Total: $840.99

Not cheap, but crutchfield does a great job putting these kits together. The only thing they dont include is wire connectors. I opted to solder/heat shrink mine. I did this with zero soldering experience and everything worked immediately. Hope this helps someone out!

Nice! Did you lose ability to access settings in the swap?

I had a similar project with Kenwood and Android Auto and the iDatalink Maestro RR Interface Module kept access to everything.

I did not. Considered it, but I didn't want butt connectors. Just took my time soldering the connections. There are only a dozen or so, but 25 bucks would have saved me about an hours time.

makes sense. I haven't soldered in years so the service appeals to me.

which head unit did you get? did the ready harness make it completely plug and play for the install?

Kenwood DMX905S. 100% plug and play. I did have to use the included mic but also added a front camera since the support was built in.

If you've ever been in the dash before I'd say 1.
