i have no rhyme or reasoning behind my engine air filter change. i'm not on a regular schedule of any sort. i just kinda peek in look at it periodically, or just buy one. no big deal. i have never found it clogged or totally blocking out the sun.

yesterday, i changed my oil because that "maint" light annoys me. i was one quart short in my stash! i was staring hard at my stash of motorcycle oil :) but, i went to buy a quart ($9.99!!!) at my LAPS. figured, get a engine air filter while i was there.

i was shocked!! it was fairly black. super dark gray for sure. i think i drove my truck daily for about 3 weeks in really bad AQI numbers. i remember a 350 AQI once.

now: i am off to buy my wife's car new filters. i am gonna change out the in-cabin filters as well.
i wonder what my lungs look like!! :D

    check your filters?

Thanks for the heads up, gotta check mine tomorrow. 350AQI is amateur hour around here, We hit 1400 the other day. 7 weeks of smoke is killing my lungs, hopefully not my truck.

Was going to restore mine a few weeks ago after the SC lightning complex fire... and then the napa fires happened so waited it out.
Fingers crossed that nothing happens these next few weeks because I need to restore my filter ASAP!
