He was. He told me it was the best day of his life. Little sister was disappointed that she couldn’t join us. I told her I’d bring her one day. It’ll have to be a half day, she’ll be bored out of her mind here.

Is this his first time going there with you? I show picture of my shop to my oldest boy and he always wants to go see it, I’ll have to set that up sometime soon. We have a 2nd shift so I could even take him for a walkthrough then.
    Enjoy your day with him!

This is probably the 5th or 6th time he’s came with me, he ask all the time. It depends on what we have going on if he can come. If I have to do any welding I won’t bring him.

My boss is shopping for a new DRO for the Bridgeport, I'll be excited to learn more about it and maybe get some experience using the mill once he gets it all set up. Currently its only set up with sensors on 2 axis, I think he's gonna get it set up with 3 axis this time around.

Looks like the 3rd axis on that one reads on the quill, he's trying to decide whether to go that way or have one that reads on the knee.

Btw heres a tank all welded up, on Monday they will get lapped flat and sandblasted. I'll try to remember to take a final pic before it gets packed lol.

Drove the dmax today and got Cole to help me load scrap steel. He loves going to the crusher, I do too

Other than I pulled a @McRib and dropped a piece of steel on top of my foot :annoyed:

That’s a really clean scrap yard. I see the price of scrap hasn’t slipped too much.

I got $1.60 a pound for #1 copper the other day. I miss the days it was $3.50, but that was a while ago.

I walked over to my mechanic friends across from work yesterday and saw some hard wheels for a hand truck. I ask about them, he said they were wrong for what he needed.

2 had 5/8” holes and 2 had 3/4” holes. I said how much? He said $30 for all four.

I took one home and it bolted right up on the torch cart I made about 20 years ago, one tire has been flat for most of that time.

The other two will fit on the hand truck I got out of the dumpster about 10 years ago. I went and paid him and got the other 3.

Personally, I’d rather have the one that reads on the quill. You move it way more then the knee
