I'm new here, hello everyone. Been using Tacoma World for about a year now before signing up to gather info for my first car. I'm 15, just got my learners permit, been driving my parents' cars. I love our 2011 Tundra, but it doesn't quite suit me as a first car (even though my dad has offered to hand it down to me). Aiming to purchase 1st gen Taco V6 5MT Xtracab 4x4. Learned manual when I was 13 and there's no going back to automatic for me (at least not for the foreseeable future).
So my big question(s): What kinds of things can everyone suggest about getting one of these? Tips when I go to look at one, common failures, things I should check, things I should feel for when driving, those kinds of things. I'm already fairly well educated, but I was hoping I could get a bit more, from knowledgeable members, maybe guys that have 1st gens?
Thanks to everyone, I'll be very active on here for so long as I search for and own a Tacoma!!

Edit: Our last Tacoma ~10 years ago. Only had Tundras since, but I adored that truck even though I was only 5. Absolute beast, V6 PreRunner. Moved our 3500lb Grady White around pretty well.
