The dealer replaced/fixed the sensor a couple of years ago while the truck was still under warranty. The "non-working" indicator came on 3 days ago and it still does not work. I turn it on everytime I get in the truck but it still gives me the alert.
Does anyone have any troubleshooting ideas or can give me some advice?

Mine acted up once and just wiping it off with a wet paper towel fixed it.

I read the same thing on line but its been raining here for 2 days and still no change. Do you know where the module is so that I can make sure it did not short out?

That’s when mine acted up, while i was driving home in the rain. I just wiped all 4 of them off and it hasn’t acted up again. Unfortunately I don’t know where any modules are located.

Thank you for the information. I will try cleaning them. I issue has never occurred due to rain in the past but there's always a first time for everything.

Mine stopped working at one point, it gave me "BSM not available" on the dash. Took it in, and there was a code thrown for sensors off master axis. They recalibrated them and been good to go since.

Not what you want to hear but i lost a sensor last year. By the end they had replaced bsm sensors 2x, harness and both mirrors. Seems the rear electrical shorted when the licenseplate light seal failed. One sensor blew, burned out mirror whcih when replaced triggered the sensor again. Finally had to replace sensor and mirror at same time. Shit show.

The BSM sensors are behind your bumper...… 1 at each end. They are directly behind and subject to tire spray....

Mine was out from the factory. Turned out to be the wire harness to the left sensor. I'm not sure you can wipe they off. but a good spray in there to remove ice and mud will help.

Do you try just turning on when you get in the truck, and then turn it off when it faults? I had weather do that to mine once. I was always pissed when it beeped so turned it off...this was a couple days, then I read somewhere it takes a few miles to recalibrate itself so I left it...sure enough bout 5 miles letting it go, it reset. Haven't a problem since

Mine went out a couple weeks ago during a snow storm. Said something to the effect, "BSM not available". Ran with it turned off for about a week until it warmed up enough to take it to the car wash where I gave it a good dousing with the sprayer. Still didn't work. Then I read somewhere here on TW to just leave it on for 10 minutes after cleaning. Sure enough, after about 5 minutes it began working again with no issues since.

Anytime know where the sensors are located? I don't see anything on the bumper or mirror that is obvious and the only thing I can find in the owner manual is how to turn it on, etc. Nothing about the hardware/sensors.

The sonar sensors are in the corner of rear bumper,,,.... It senses through the plastic bumper tip.

Look harder... there are lots of threads above the BSM system....Most problems are with left rear sensor and debris...

    Good luck:thumbsup:
