So, as I stated on my first post I’m having fun ( sarcasm) dealing with the tires. I like the tires but whoever put these tires on there could’ve got 5 which would’ve given me a spare. There is the original spare but SERIOUSLY, I mean if you are off roading have a blowout you need a replacement that will at most work until you can fix the other.
So, I’m looking to find one, & these ain’t cheap to match.

That wheel is 17”, most Tacoma’s come with 16”, so if your spare is still original, getting the identical tire isn’t going to help. That is if this is what you mean, your post is (or was before you edited) somewhat cryptic.

Who gives a shit if the spare matches. Bthe truck won't care if the size is different. That's what the differential is for

Before anyone chimes in with "E-load tires don't need to worry about a flat..."

@mutely Ummm....my Tacoma is stock with 17" wheels. I'm pretty sure mine isn't the only one on the road like this.

I spend a lot of time off-roading (in fact, I've just spent a week off-roading in and around Moab) and I wouldn't loose sleep over not having a matching spare, just make sure that the tire size of your spare matches the size on your truck. Most of my vehicles are running spare tires which I bought from the used tire store. Has never been an issue.

Did you miss the word “most”, or just not know what it means?

look at sales of Limited and Sport vs Pro, Off-road, SR5 & SR. Ie models with 17”vs 16” wheels

I just bought the truck not exactly sure of the mods.
I’m a bit different in the fact that I want to have as close to what i drive as a spare. I’m not loosing sleep over it it’s a preference. Planning to go cross country next year going for some remote places to camp. I got some family property in the mountains in Col that I’m planning to go to. It’s off the beaten path if you get my drift.
After living in Ak I learned a lot as far as making sure your comfortable in your preparation. I’m not there yet but looking for some advice from people that have experience & maybe with my experience I can help someone as well.
The tires that are on the truck were on it when I got it last week. I’ve not added anything yet. I’m still figuring out what all has been totally done to it.
BTW the current spare is a R16.

Vehicle computers care about tire size. A buddy has a Jeep Wrangler jk that had worn out 37s on the back and I swapped the spare tire that was brand new, same size and brand tire on to the back axle. The traction control would freak out and cut power until I put the worn out tire back on it.

Yup. Depending on how far off it is and what the computers threshold is, it'll think one wheel is slipping.

Dang. That's pretty sweet. So even if u were trying to limp it home with different tires, I'm assuming it would throw C1337 and disable Trac and ABS and allow you drive without fighting trac the whole way back.

I’m still confused on what’s being asked. If you want a 5th tire that matches then go buy it. The brand, model, and size are on the sidewall

Best solution is probably to carry 4 matching spares.

Yeah but if you're out in the rice Paddy's with nothing but 2 sticks of bubble gum and a Swiss army knife. It's nice to know you could potentially limp it home. Plus I geek out on code setting criteria.

    I don't think it's that sensitive...relatively speaking.
3 or more trips with a 20% or greater difference between the average speed of front tires and average speed of rear tires.

You might throw one of these and have stuff disabled; they have much more sensitive thresholds.

I carry 8 matching spares, and some bubble gum, and a Swiss Army knife. I also carry a crate of duct tape so I could build up one of the tires to match the diameter of the other ones if needed.
