FFA03CD4-F64F-45D4-88B5-86A3E8AEAF7D.jpg Hello all, I just bought a new Tacoma! Only 115,000 miles! I love it dearly already. I am afraid though that I may have rust issue. Although it is hard to admit. I didn’t do enough research and buyers lust overcame me. I am pretty mechanically inclined and am going to buy a welder soon. I also am not opposed to doing a frame swap. Just need some advice from the people who have experienced this issue. I will take some more photos tomorrow of the repairs.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I'd have to see more, but that doesn't look like that big of a deal if that's it.

Stay off the beach. The salt water and salt air are not doing it any favors.

Welcome! The rust isn't too bad; however, you still have time manage it before it gets out of hand.

You are fine. That's nothing. They after it with a wire brush and some undercoating and you are fine.

    Welcome to TacomaWorld
Bang on the frame all over to find any rust through. If that reveals holes there are Safe T Caps for weld on repairs.
If you don't find rust through you can wire brush and apply Coroseal rust converter then top coat with Rust-Oleum farm paint. Frames rust from inside so you'll need a 360° spray wand on undercoating gun to spray Coroseal inside frame. After drying spray Fluid Film inside frame and outside over new paint. Rinse with freshwater and reapply Spring and fall.

Time to buy that welder and learn to weld .

Another Winter if you see Chemicals would have made things much worse

I bet that frame has been swapped out before. Look up the vin on toyotas website for it's maintenance history.

Just where did that truck grow up you never said or I missed it .

If it lived close to the Ocean and winters never got below freezing but for a few nights.

Just a normal Tacoma owned by someone not having a clue about rust.

Then seeing the repairs done using the least amount of metal to get the holes covered .

Gonna needs lots of Tender Loving Care I hope you did not pay top dollar .
