ITEM: Two (2) brand new, never installed LOWER CONTROL ARMS for 1st gen Toyota Tacoma. Painted in black. Includes new bushings installed. Branded as Mevotech. Purchased and shipped directly from Rock Auto. In original plastic wrap; only opened and removed for photos.



BACKSTORY: I recently replaced LCA bushings on my 2004 4WD Tacoma in my driveway. After doing a LOT of research, I discovered the hardest part of the job sometimes is getting the old bushings out of the old LCAs (in order to put the new ones in), so some people recommended just replacing the WHOLE arm to avoid headaches.

I bought these LCAs directly from Rock Auto to make the swap easier. New OEM LCAs are outrageously priced; used OEM LCAs are likely rusty in most parts of the country. I got these LCAs because Mevotech is considered to be a very good aftermarket manufacturer (their UCAs are identical to SPC UCAs).

It turns out my old bushings were not very difficult to remove in my case, so I re-used my old OEM arms and just bought new bushings, instead of using these new LCAs. Unfortunately, I am just about past the return date, and besides, I have heard Rock Auto has a very...not-so-good restocking fee policy.

do the MEVOTECHS have a Country of Origin anywhere?

 

Great question...I do not see anything on that, but I will look on the actual part right now. I suspect China, since almost ALL non-genuine parts are made there, including quality aftermarket stuff (e.g., SPC).

Mevotech UCAs and SPC UCAs are identical, in fact members have bought Mevotech from Rock Auto and had SPC branded UCAs delivered.

So, consider quality is similar.
