    I’m using red and tacky. The other sides boot looks normal. Not sure what the deal is...

    Ace hardware had washers that I could use for under the balljoint boot worked good and now its closed pretty good.

    Looks like the new style boot. Maybe came with a defect of some sort?:confused: I would contact Marlin from JBA Offroad. Great customer service. I’m sure he will help you get it fixed.

    As regards to grease, I know he recommended lithium based grease. He recommended this brand to me Mobilux EP 2 Moly.
    Lucas oil Red and Tacky seems like a good grease equivalent also. So I don’t think that’s the problem.

    that’s what I was thinking. Probably just a manufacturer defect. I’m sure he will get back in touch. He sure knows how to bombard with emails and texts when you buy something. Maybe he will bombard with a solution.

    So I heard back from JBA. They’re saying there has been a bad batch from their boot manufacturer, just a few out of the lot. They gave me the option of getting a replacement boot from the same batch or waiting until they resolve the issue. I’d rather wait unless this one completely gives before then. The fact that the other side’s boot looks fine seems to confirm their suspicion.

    A question for you all when it comes to greasing these things:
    I usually add 1 pump of grease to each of the bushings every 5k miles. And maybe 2-3 pumps to the ball joint. Ive noticed that over time all the extra grease always squeezes out around the outer washers. The inner washers (closest to the shock) are always bone dry, never had even a tiny bit of grease work through that side.

    That seem normal? Im kind of wondering if the gap is too big on the outer washers and if I need to take some time to re-torque that big bolt..?

    There is pressure on the 2 inner washers that prevents the grease from flowing through them. Flow wants to take the path of least resistance. Basically, its best to leave the bolt torqued to 85ft#'s and grease them while everything is under pressure. Eventually with movement, the grease will find its way to the passages cut in to the bushings.

    I found a couple bolts that fit the hole, not sure what size, but def metric. Came from a dirt bike plastic kit. I use whatever is laying around haha.

    I have the stock bolts that fit the hole. My issue is the stock break lines dont extend far enough for me to screw the bracket back on.

    Yeah I remember that now. i just left mine a little loose. May put some washers or make another mount if it ever backs out. Not too concerned about it, I don’t think it’s at a pinch or rub point.

    Got mine all buttoned up last week with JBA uppers, new outer tie rod ends, and new lower control arms with all new cam bolt hardware. Headed to the alignment shop today at noon, hoping to have good numbers for the first time in 80k miles since I lifted!
