The latter... :) you can still do everything on VFTuner from both (which I like), but when you give Mat the code for the new computer, you'll lose the ability to Flash from the old one.

Good to know. I'll make sure I don't have anything I need or want changed before sending it out. Thank you.

im using the newest map that you and @PapaRee and whomever else worked on and it is great except it holds 3rd and 4th a tad too much (like 5mph). I’m on 4.88’s and 32’s. I’m wondering if is because the tune is configd for 33’s? Could this 1” do that?

also, it definitely eats more fuel (3-4mpg avg), but that’s partially my fault. :anonymous:

I dont think its from the 1" tire difference. It could be the gearing.

Please explain the scenario in which you are experiencing the gear holding too long.

I am not sure that I agree with you on this one, at least so far as these maps are the problem children. For one, I was able to completely eliminate bogging after an upshift just by changing the shift maps, and nothing else.

Two, let's go back and think about the old school cable actuated throttle. This theory would mean that every old car with a cable actuated throttle would require some mechanism to open the throttle after an upshift without a change in accelerator pedal.

Three, this is not the only map that influences throttle position or airflow. There are also the accelerator request to airload maps, the airload control maps, and even the transmission torque maps. And this is not even considering the MAF compensation for Atkinson simulation maps, which are dependent on engine speed. Unfortunately we don't know yet exactly how all these maps intertwine.

But, I think your thought process is on the right track. The engine bogs after the upshift to 4 because there is a large step change in the amount of torque the engine can produce. I'd be interested to see a log of what is going on during this bogging shift. I suspect you would find a significant drop in airflow, either due to the throttle closing or intake valve timing retarding, corresponding with the upshift.

For the 3-4 upshift try lowering the 29 angle down 2 kph and the 52 angle down 5-7 kph
For the 4-5 upshift try lowering the value under the 15 down 2 kph and the one under the 27 value down 5 kph. I'm guessing this is the range of pedal your foot is in when cresting a hill, so lowering these values will prove to be the resolution. Remember, somewhere in-between the two values are more values that you just aren't seeing, that all relate to accelerator angels you also are not visually privelaged to.

Has anyone received any Zendesk replies from Mat since October 6th? I have tagged or quoted him in my previous posts. I have been waiting for a Zendesk reply from him since October 6th. I reached out to Mat 10 days later via Zendesk, I have PM'd him and nothing. Am I alone here or are others being ignored too? I have not seen Mat here on TW much either. I have been fairly patient, but that isn't helping.

Since we have had some people saying that 3rd gear and 4th gear were hanging on too long, I adjusted the upshift tables on our most current tunes.
I also smoothed the Acceleration throttle request to airload table and reverted back the 4th gear 2 torque converter settings. Let us know if this is better for you.

Did you send your new calibration ID to @OVTune ? He’s already added support for a couple of other new ECUs hopefully A62 won’t be too difficult. :)

Here you go, 4.88 and 32" tires with the upshift adjustments to hopefully fix your problem.
