I wish my mistake was that complicated. You know when you are in the reg code generator and it says press 1 for the one we don’t want and 2 for the one we want? Yeah, that’s where I had an an aneurism and hit 1 instead of 2, more than 1 time...

No worries! It is always drizzling around here.

    Flashed TSBs? About eight times.

OVT? 50 to 60 or so times?

here's a question for yall... i just went thru the steps here (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ecu-tsb-update.562550/#post-18431380) to get TechStream V14.20.019 going, and once i get through it all, successfully put in the unlock code, it tells me I have to update in order to connect to any vehicles, and sends me to some toyota internal site. is there a new version somewhere that I need in order to do TCBs and mess with the truck's settings? are there more current instructions that you can help a brotha find?

I turn off wifi/unplug ethernet. It then prompts you to use offline mode.

Yes. This is popping up lately. Just turn off wifi. It will then give you 30 uses. Clicking again when online will reset the count.

Someone posted a way to edit a file in the installation folder, but this has been working for me for a while now.

I think I found a way... I'm going to give it a shot today or tomorrow. If so, I'm going to make a simple program to reset it. Do you host the file in your cloud @tonered? If so I'll let you know when I have a working file and you can add it to the zip and instructions if you'd like.

There's no need. If the count gets low, just hit connect while online. It will force you to the webpage and the count will be reset.

Looks like it counts up from 0.
My thought process was attempt a negative value. Throw in a number we'll likely never reach, like -5000. But either Toyota has thought that through or it will reset to a specific value (like 0) once connected online.

Has anyone checked the registry? That seems like where something like this would be stored. You can export with it as zero or one and a double click of the export file will overwrite the current with your exported value.

Sounds like that isn’t necessary but might save the step of connecting WiFi then disconnecting just to reset the count.

    1. Go to "C:\Program Files\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\Env" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\Env"
    2. Find and open ”IT3usercustom.ini”
    3. Find ”Connectioncount=” and a number.
    4. You can just delete the ”Connectioncount=#” portion or edit the value.
    5. Save and you should be good to go

Yep. I just put a shortcut on the desktop and it takes all of 2 seconds.

If you want, try a negative value and see what happens. I'm curious. Could also make a program that resets the counter before you open Techstream up. That way every time you use it, it will reset automatically. Being that it's a cracked program, I don't want to allow it to phone home while I'm using it.

Even more old school, using a ini.

Probably easiest to copy the .ini after the install is known to be working and then right click drag to overwrite vs doing an in place edit.

The fancy option is to make a .cmd which does the copy then disables WiFi with netsh then launches TS. Then fire that with shortcut or Launchy as preferred.

Negative value doesn't work. Requires you to reactivate software. It resets the count to 0, but still requires reactivation. Manually setting the value to 0 works like a charm though.
