    Hello all,

Where do you get your OEM parts from? I am looking for headlight assemblies, grill and possibly bumper. My wife rear ended someone a while ago and the shaking of parts is bothering me. I was looking at it yesterday and it seems to be straight forward replacement. Nothing bent, just broken plastic.

    Thanks!

what I would do is find out oem part numbers either by stopping at your local dealer or on here and then just search by part number on Google for the best prices

We've actually had great luck with our local dealer too on pricing. He beat Amazon's price on everything I purchased last time. Good place to start.

Your local wrecking yard may be an option as well. Sometimes I've been able to find somewhat reasonable priced oem parts at my local wrecking yard. Be careful though...I've noticed my local wrecking yard likes to adopt stealership practices and will charge unreasonable or new prices for used/slightly damaged oem parts.

    shopping around maybe
ebay, Amazon, online sections of Toyota parts dealers
but I usually just use Olathe Toyota parts catalog online to find the part number then buy it somewhere else cheaper
also depending on where you work sometimes they hook it up with a discount
like if you work at a different dealership, there might be a discount at Toyota

but eBay/amazon will probably be more aftermarket than OEM
I have a set of OEM take-off headlights if you're interested
DEPO seems like another popular options for parts like headlights; they give you the "BHLM" (black head light mod) without having to waste hours of time baking yours in an oven to take them apart, mask, paint, re-seal, etc.
and if you remove your rattley lights, now you have a bad spare set to use temporarily in the future
if you ever need time to pull your good ones back out to upgrade them but still have the truck driveable
like if you cut into the good ones to install projectors

Just walk into the dealer and ask for the parts manager. Explain your situation and that you’ll be buying all oem parts from him and ask for his best price. If he a good parts mgr. he’ll give you a good deal.

I initially bought parts from my local dealer, then discovered I could get much better prices from Toyota dealers who sold online. I then found Toyota dealers who had the cheapest prices on Amazon, but the fantastic Amazon prices aren't as good as they used to be. Guess you're now paying extra for that "free shipping"...

But in the last year or two, I've found my local Toyota dealership is also offering pretty good prices on parts. I highly recommend people shop around, but make sure you also call your local dealer's parts department. You might be surprised how competitive they are these days...

Generally speaking, I prefer OEM Toyota parts for my Tacoma. I know the quality is there.

I bought a tail light from 1A Auto - I called to check if it was plug and play - yes and it was - not OEM but I couldn't tell the difference and neither can anyone else.
