I just roughly mounted up my ditch lights and I'm on the fence with them. Not sure what to think. Almost feel like the front of the truck has a little too much going on with them.

They are just cheapies from Amazon so nothing special.

After 10 years with them , You get use to them .
They do create a glare on the hood of the truck , however , they work fantastic for offroading and night driving .
Considering I have a super white , the glare is very noticeable
There is a kit you can purchase that places a shield on the bottom of the ditch light to prevent the glare from bouncing off the hood of the truck .
If I had my choice on my next truck , I think I might hang em off the mirrors . Might look a little stupid but its for function , not for presentation

If it looks too busy on the front end, then I’d say stop using lighting as an aesthetic mod. Function over form, not form over function.

If you don’t need ditch lighting, take them off. Same for every other accessory lighting.

I put some on my truck and while I'm not in love with them, I have a few reasons I plan to keep them.

First, I don't off-road a lot, but when I do, I want good lighting. I camp and off-road in the mountains and it's not uncommon to find myself on a narrow forest service road with a cliff on the downhill side. Having better visibility to the side of the vehicle is a plus. It's not often that I need them, but the option is good.

The other reason I think I'll keep them is I bought the switch panel that replaces the cubby to the left of the steering wheel, and it has a spot for three switches. So now I have lighting in three places: low (winch bumper), medium (ditch lights) and high (roof rack).

I'd say run them for the winter and if you just don't like them being there, someone will buy them.

I hear you. I think for me, I've never really had great lighting so I want to be able to have the option to really brighten things up, especially when driving in conditions like rain where lighting just bounces off of the wet ground.

I think I'll wire it up so I can see if it really benefits me. If it doesn't I'll likely remove it.
