Hey guys. Truck is in the shop for a new frame and was thinking about having them change out the strut assembly and control arms in the front. I just bought the truck a few weeks ago and the previous owner installed the leveling kit pucks. The struts and control arms need to be replaced any way and was thinking I’d get the assembly with the 2” leveling kit built in and remove the pucks, unless it doesn’t matter which in that case I’d just get the regular strut assembly and keep the puck in. Also going to get the control arms replaced as well.

I’d like to find out if the puck in my truck is a 2” or 3” kit since the front is just a tad bit higher than the rear. If it’s a 3” a 2” would be perfect so it’s actually closer to level with the front a little lower.

These are the strut assemblies I was looking at:

    With Lift:

    Without Lift (third one down):

And API control arms with ball joint assembly.

The general consensus is that pucks suck and most don't recommend them. Bilstein 5100 shocks are good and affordable many people run them including me. When paired with a 2 inch longer coil from HeadStrong Offroad you have a much better strut and better riding when compared to pucks because the springs are longer. At 2 inches you don't NEED new upper control arms but when going up over 2.5 inches you will most likely need longer UCAs in order to get a proper alignment, JBA, SPC are good options if you go that route. Some else can chime in about the UCA with more info I'm sure.
