For about 3 weeks it has been getting worse. From a stop out of first gear, especially up an incline, my truck will have almost no power. Even accelerating the gas more from first gear (and recently) it seemed like the truck was going to die, I had to turn around and going down hill it was better.

While driving, seems like I lose a gear, meaning, going up a slight incline I feel my truck jerking to get more power so I have to down shift. When driving up a slight incline in fifth gear now I have to down shift into fourth gear just to get up that same incline.

I've used Super Tech Motor Treatment three times now and Slick 50 Recharged for High Mileage Engine Treatment once so far.

I ran a code reader on my truck and got a P1135, Air Fuel Sensor Heat Circuit (Bank 1). I'm pretty sure it's my 02 sensor but before I spend $339 from NAPA (that's how much it costs in Hawaii), I want to make sure that it's the problem. I can get the same part from Rock Auto for about $58 but my Tacoma is my only mode of transportation and one week is too long to wait.

Any suggestions? I've read that it could be my catalytic converter but if that's the case, it could cost big $$ because I cannot take it off myself, I've tried.

    Thanks!

Sorry should have added it in my initial blog. 2001, 3.4L, about 277,000 miles. I changed the plugs, double platinum, spark plug wires, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, alternator, and battery.

    Thanks.

You have an oiled filter, and a large one at that, clean your MAF if you haven't already and consider switching back to the stock box, that filter does little more than make noise and dirty your MAF.

Get rid of that K&n like stated. It had o. Oiled filter that will restrict 02 sensor readings. Buy sensor safe cleaner the clean it gently. Look into stock box with a afe pro dry non oiled filter.

OK, I cleaned my MAF sensor......same. The tape around the hose is because I tried to pull the hose out to change my plugs and it broke, hence the tape. I cleaned the Oxygen O2 sensor in front of the catalytic converter or the Air Fuel Sensor Heat Circuit (Bank 1)...same. I really have to give it the gas while in first gear and at about 20MPH, my truck jerks until I go a little faster, then third gear the same, when I hit a certain speed it'll jerk until I go faster.

I had the Airaid Air Intake for over 13 years and only now this has started, would it matter?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
You really need to fix that vacuum leak on the intake tube. Someone suggested a length of a plastic drinking straw epoxied into the hole has worked for them

Hah, found it! I was changing my O2 sensor and found a small hose on the transmission that the end was cut and would not fit correctly. I fixed the hose and everything works good now. We don't have the correct hose here where I live so I'll have to wait till I can make it to Napa or AutoZone or something, but that small hose caused me all this problems....
