2019 Tacoma Snorkel Hat Replacement

Hey!

So I just bought a used 2019 Tacoma with a TRD snorkel. While in transit and the cleaning the company did before transport, the hat of the snorkel broke. I’m been looking for the hat to purchase and the dealerships are telling me they only sell the whole snorkel assembly. Can someone please point me in the right direction of what I need to do to get it replaced.

 

The transport company broke it? Why aren't they fixing/replacing it?

 

I'd just drill a new hole and stick a pop rivet in it tbh.

 

I’m not sure who broke it. Either the dealer or transport. I already reached out to them and they should be covering the charges. I’m just trying to find the piece and let them pay for it. I took it for a test drive right after signing for it and I heard banging on the roof. The rim of the hat blew off and the hat was dangling.

Is there wiring inside the snorkel

 

There is a wire but it’s just to attach the hat to the snorkel. There is screws that go into the front and back but it snapped.

 

If you can only buy the snorkel as one piece it sounds like whoever is footing the bill will have to pay for the whole thing then

 

In the meantime slap it back on with some Gorilla Tape to keep it from banging on the cab roof.

 

Well when I bought my 2020 trd pro, It did not come with a snorkel. So I bought a snorkel and installed it. The point of this at the time I bought this, the dealer told me the hat was sold separately.. The cable inside just holds it to the snorkel so if the thumb screw loosens up the cap will not fly off.. Try calling another dealer.. If the answer is the same.
The shipping co will have to pay for a new snorkel. So you will get a new body for future problems.. GOOD DEAL FOR YOU SIR. Good luck to you !!!

 

Well you've got a few options
Fix it (not terribly difficult, but shouldn't have to)
The shipper buys whole new assembly
Shipper finds top (hat) salvage, if they don't want to pay for whole assembly
