What are these designed for??

Can anyone tell me what these indents in the bed are designed for?

 

2x6 fits so you can load sheets of 4x8 material

 

Or 4 2x4s.

 

Any other trucks you guys can think of that have their bed as well designed as the Tacoma? It seems to work really well. Little disappointed we lost the left side cubby, but I can live with that.

 

The cubbies keep dwindling, my 11 has 4, the 15 only has 2, now you poor souls only have 1.

 

Every truck has something a bit different.

 

Titan is the best I've seen. Frontier is a close second.

 

I had the same exact same question in my head the other day.

 

Honda Ridgeline had a nice bed

 

Probably the best with the two way tailgate and trunk.

 

And if you're gonna go both ways, the ridgeline is probably just the perfect truck!

 

Except it looks like shit

 

Yeah that bed trunk was amazing. My first truck was a honda ridgeline lol

 

C'mon.....not near as bad as the Aztek or the SSR truck or the Predator.......

Many uglies have sold over the years. Edsel, Pacer, Matador........

 

All that time that other manufacturers spend updating the truck, aesthetics, powerplants... Nissan puts into the bed design. You have a surplus of refinement time, when you don't update the rest of the design in 20 years.

 

It looks fabulous in the home depot / lowes parking lot loading up bags of while Bill is loading bags of mulch..... he used to be such a cool guy. Married karen and it all went south from there

Speaking of Tacoma beds has anyone seen these? These are on a new 2021 Tacoma SR5 DBCB listed at a dealer not too far from me.
