The end is near

 

Yeah. That was Saturday. Sunday there was an overwhelming smell of gas in the backyard, so strong my next door neighbor smelled it as well. Everyone wanted to call the gas company, thinking they hit the gas line, but I recognized it as pump gas. I was overruled so they called. Gas guy said, yep, It's gasoline, coming from neighbors. So they call the fire dep. turns out someone spilled a bunch of gas when filling up the gennie.

I've never been more happy to get to a Monday in my life.

Thanks, another 2 hours or so and it should be gone according to the fire marshal.
Neighbors are losing shingles, we’ve lost a few trees, almost all of the fence has blown down, tree has lost a few large limbs and is partially blocking the road but hopefully it won’t get too much worse, it should plateau and then start getting better.
Unconfirmed reports of a tornado about 20 minutes from here, local bowling alley reportedly lost its roof.

Weather has finally passed for the most part, checked on the neighbors and they’re all good, one lost a skylight and quite a few shingles.
We were able to do an assessment of our house and in addition to the trees and fence we noticed earlier we noticed that we are also missing a few shingles, there are about 4 bare spots on the roof.

It sounds like one of the properties that my parents own down on the gulf got pretty hard, one building is missing a roof and another tenant said that there’s a lot of siding missing as well as a leaking roof.

Yep, no flooding concern where my house or my parents house is, minimal flooding concern for the apartment building, although it’s near beachfront the elevation and how far west the storm was minimized the flooding potential.
