I’m going to play with it some more, but expect it to be hand drawn and not look the best. I don’t know any software to make cool things, so resorting to iPad drawing.

This might be better than a computer generated design. I remember making flyers for shows back in my wannabe Rockstar days. The hand drawn ones were always better than the ones made on our drummer's computer.

I honestly don’t think I can do much better. I think the retro colors on it somehow would look awesome. Not sure how the TRD logo looks with it. I tried adding some PRB cans and cheese heads by the trees, but it was just too much going on.

I think the Wisconsin state image, retro colors and maybe TRD Wisconsin on tacomaworld.com would be good. Or just Wisconsin Tacomas on tacomaworld.com

Mainly got my inspiration from these stickers.

Here’s another “screw it” pic I copied from my inspiration. Maybe have the tree be the TRD logo, or just a tree? Heck, idk. I work in IT, I’m not a designer. I just really want a retro colored Wisconsin themed Tacoma sticker :)

If I was any better at this and owned a decal / vinyl machine I’d already have it made.

    I know it's not on a napkin, but here's a quick thought.

Ha. This is what I just drew before I even saw this. Great minds think alike. I would totally buy that sticker for $10 or whatever you’d sell em for.

@CygnusX191 indeed I can. I can certainly help. Then you'd be able to say you have the famous GQ Flakes designer on your truck. :cookiemonster:

But seriously though, if you hit me up with some ideas I can put something together for ya.

Thank you for saving me from having to design something with Wisconsin in it. :p That is basically what I had in mind when I was reading through the thread. If you got rid of the shadow for the state, added something to contrast between it and the background, and simplified the trees it would make a nice sticker/patch for the Wisconsinites.

What would you do to contrast the state from the background? That's why I put in the drop shadow. I can see where that would cause trouble for sewing patches, but it prints fine for stickers. The trees were merely the first usable ones I could find on a search.

Yeah the contrast suggestion was partly to solve potential issues with making patches and to help separate some of the design. In its current format with the shadow it has an established foreground and background but the colors are the same and they kind of mix together. I think the easiest way to resolve that issue would be to remove the shadow and thicken up the state border.

Tree wise maybe see if you can find something similar that is a sugar maple instead of pine. Generally hardwood trees have an easier "simple" design than softwoods plus its the WI state tree.

I would still suggest giving the state border a black outline, but other than that looks great!

I will tuck my designer lingo back into hiding and go back to shitposting. :anonymous:
