i am seriously considering having a removable winch set up, except the removable winch is hooked up to the rear tow hitch point and then also having a winch in the front bumper when i get it upgraded to a CBI bumper.

    too much winches?

Depends on where you go and if you go alone.

My Warn is always in my Jeep. But I picked up a Rule very cheap sometime back. It’s smaller and only rated at 6000#.

I’ll put it in the bed when going alone. On several occasions I have used both To extract myself or others.

For most folks the cost of two winches is an issue. And often you can use a heavy duty come along in place of a second winch.

As a side note, I have also put the Rule in the receiver on another vehicle. Just have very long jumper cables to provide power.

How you can use a winch is only limited to your imagination. But always think it through before you pay out the cable.

Relentless front and rear bumpers, Warn M-8000S Winch, Relentless RockSliders, bigger tires, bed cover RTT ... and more big changes in the works.
I used a front mounted receiver and winch on tray for a while. It worked and worked well, but I never used it anywhere except the front. After a while I got a plate bumper and dedicated the winch for the front in the bumper. It is much better IMHO.

Hope you like the modularity of it.

The thing is if your by yourself is it a real good idea to Winch through a obstacle rather then get out by going back.

I like the winch on the rear of the truck .

I also ran welding cables to front and Rear not sure just what connectors they came from McMaster-Carr about 10 years ago

I just added a Receiver to my Smitty Built Bumper
