I have 2 long time friends named Dan and Jill. Both awesome people, and would stop everything to help someone. Jill was diagnosed with cancer a year or two ago. She was beating it, and even went as far to get a license plate on her Jeep that read OVER IT. The cancer came back.

While dealing with the nightmares she was forced to deal with, she found a 67 Camaro for Dan to occupy his time and take his mind off of her a bit. It was the typical basket case when he bought it for $4000.

Every millimeter of this car has been gone over. When they both knew her time was ticking fast, he stepped up the build and was able to get her out on 2 rides and 2 killer road trips. She passed away about 3 weeks ago. I went to his house Sat. to weld a cat onto the Jeep for him, and after BSing with him afterward, he asked if I wanted to go for a ride! We took a 45 minute ride that put a smile on my face bigger than getting laid by a super model.

The car sports a 5.3 fully built small block by Turnkey Motors, has QA1's in front, and rear bolt in 4 link not running QA1's, but a different brand. It has a 5 speed manual, 4 wheel disc brakes and 17" Corvette wheels and is one hell of a sweet car to ride in.

and btw Jason, yes, yours is still much faster I'm sure, and will let you know for a fact once you too give me a ride in yours. biggrin_8d83d567d252899b003625ab500e44e096b95163.gif funny thing too, Dan lives at the top of Escondido Ave and is literally 3 minutes from you.

Nice car and i love the color. I had a red 67 - 350. The pictures bring back memories as i would very much like to have another one. I'm sure my mid life crisis is coming soon and maybe my wife will be nice enough to allow me to get another one.

Sorry about the loss of your friend.

My God Almighty, that is a beautiful car.

However, as I say that, it's terrible because it's come at a awful price, your friend and Dan's wife, Jill.

With that being said, it is heartwarming that a tangible gift from Jill in her darkest day's can bring life, love, and a bit of happiness to a story that is otherwise tragic.

A smile bigger then being laid by a super model? Clearly you've been banging the wrong super models.

But In seriousness, sorry for his loss, and what a beautiful car. Very nice read.
