    Hey guys,
I am actually just starting to look at getting into a taco for the first time and I am flip flopping back and forth between these two trim levels. This is going to be my daily driver and I will be using it to haul some small things around, mainly a couple of small kids in the crew cab. I don’t think I’ll ever really be doing any serious off roading in the thing. Is it even worth it to get the off road or should I stick to the sport because I’ll be mainly on the road? Thanks for all opinions on this.

I’d be getting the 4x4 sport if I went in that direction. I just don’t think I’ll be doing any serious off roading besides some back roads in the woods and dirt roads by where in live here on cape cod.

I’d go with the 4x4 sport for what you’re looking for. I decided to go with a sport and I do some off roading with it too. Tacoma’s are super capable just stock 4x4. I’d either save the money from the off-road or just get more options on the sport.

Basically, Sport has color matched fenders and an electric LSD 17" wheels and a chin skirt for better mileage . OR has black fenders, no skewp, electronic locking rear diff, 16" wheels.

Basically, the differences are really minor. You could get the one you think looks better and be just as happy either way. Fundamentally they are not that different.

I’m on my 3rd Sport. When I bought this last one I test drove an OR just to see what I thought. I prefer the ride (for daily driving) on the Sport. That said, I don’t do any serious off roading. I do use it in the snow a few times a year and I drive it out on the beach a few times a year. It’s never left me stranded and is very capable.

This is basically everything I will be doing with it as well. Thanks for the input. The sport it is for me. Plus the dealership I have been working with has the exact I am looking for coming in in December so it turned out to be a win for me.
