This is just like the Takata airbags. They don't want the company making them to go bankrupt so they let them trickle out until they're done. It's ridiculous but probably the only way.

Denso would not go bankrupt from this by a long shot

no it's not. This is completely normal. Your AC compressor kicking on draws down the RPM and the truck raises RPM to offset it.

You might be right, but maybe not in this case and according to the Toyota Tech that was pulling codes for another problem I am having. Wife’s GX460 had the fuel pump recall done and on the 4 hour drive to the dealer, the engine RPMs started fluctuating, dropping about 400-500 rpms.

but it could be you might be right

Recalls ain't nothin to worry about. :bananadead:

Try bringing an Explorer to the shop and hear them say "yeah that's a common issue. To be honest there should have been a recall on that years ago. Anyways, its gonna be 700 bucks."

Man, I don’t know, & maybe it’s just me, but if Toyota makes you feel like that Deliverance scene, I would guess that you have a whole bunch of other disturbing shit going on in your life that you probably need to get off of your chest... If so, you can tell us. This is a safe space. Let it out...

Does anyone know if 2016 owners should be expecting to be involved or if the fuel pump is different from 2016>2017?

I just read that, which is what prompted me to ask. Now that 1M+ more vehicles were added to be included, is there any reason to believe that the number of vehicles will not expand further to include more, possibly the 2016 models? Or does anyone know if the fuel pump on the 2016 is not the same or similar to the 2017+?

Its probably going to depend on batches, and supplier etc.

So on that service bulletin it says two hours for Tacoma’s, do they have to take the bed off? If they do have to take the bed off, make sure to check your alignment of the bed after the repair before you leave the dealer. When I first got my new truck, the alignment for the bed was way off and I couldnt fit a cap on it correctly, so I had to have them redo it. It was a mess.
