    If you have served, you have served that is all that matters, you have helped the US someway, my dad was in Italy/Bahrain for 3 years off and on and he still feels like there were guys doing more than he did, (he is an intelligence officer). If you did anything from working at a base to being over on the front lines for 4 years, you have served and done Your job.
