She’s a beaut! I was tempted to get a Capra. Still wish the Sentinel I picked up was in newer condition, but oh well.

this things clean. No marks from rock kick up. He put the protection stickers on frame. Not sure what they’re called. But even in very bottom there’s no rock kick up marks. Not even on the rear triangle.

Got the receipt where he originally purchased and it’s never been registered so I’ve also got warranty coverage. He purchased the thing in July, but just recently bought the new stumpjumper.

Nice. Not intended to be a jerk question, but does Alabama really warrant that much bike?

LA (lower Alabama) not so much. Mid to northern has some decent gnar. No sustained descents like NC or something out west but I'd shred that in bama no questions

Had my first fat bike thought...now I think I have to go kill myself. Went out riding (With my FS enduro bike) hoping the sunny side of the valley was melted. Not at all, like 80%ice and snow.

but the strangest thing happened...I really enjoyed the challenge of biking up the trail in the snow. The added physical and riding challenge of maintaining traction, and the sound of the snow, and the aloneness. I love shuttle/bike park riding, and do the xc because I need the exercise to do any sport in this town... But I was like, fuck I wish I had some fatter tires and some lower gears, this is pleasant. I will probably go again in the near future

It’s not worth a visit for the biking, but if you were ever over for work or anything it’s worth bringing a bike.

The gnar and chunk is there it’s just not sustained. That’s why I was capable of riding down black mountain and Bennett, either one since they’re the same, but I couldn’t climb or do the whole descents without breaks lol

No it’s not, but it’s a medium and weights less than most hardtails and trail bikes.

also hardtails can do anything. Watch Blake’s recent GMBN video on a hardtails.

So far coldwater is the most fun trail I’ve done, Monte Sano and the place right off park are chunk too that I like.

coming from a large Capra this bike should feel fast peddling.

People hate on the fatties for some reason, but they dont know what theyre missing. Its a shitload of work to get uphill esp in loose snow, but the downs are so damn fun.

Plus on something like putt putt on Jacksons east side, theyre a blast to rip the flowy stuff in the summer .

I sold mine because we have such good skiing here, but if I werent in the heart of UT ski country, Id rock that all winter

haha thats exactly what trail that is

i hate on the fatties...but i think i could enjoy some winter rides out there... really it would mostly be used in the off season, with a bit of frozen/slush snow when the sledding/skiing is winding down or just starting.

Yea I'm about 95% sure I'm going to get the job. I am probably going to visit family for either Thanksgiving or Christmas so we can get in some winter action as well. I will probably have a heat stroke in the summer but at least you will be a witness and can dial 911 for me. Never heard of Baker creek?

Shit.. I need to find about a dozen WTB Ranger+ tires to stash away. My 29+ singlespeed is my favorite bike of all time, so I can't imagine giving it up.
