There’s three products on the market for locking center console safes for the 3rd Gen

    OEM Center Console Safe $239
    http://toyotaparts.sparkstoyota.com/install/00016-35974inst.pdf

    Console Vault $269
    https://www.consolevault.com/Toyota-Tacoma-2016-2019.html

    Lock’er Down $289
    https://www.lockerdown.com/i-58-console-safe-2016-2019-toyota-tacoma-model-ld2047.html?ref=category%3A77

Anyone know something about this or installed one? Says it’s Toyota OEM with a legit part number, just found these and they’re cheaper than the $300 aftermarket ones.

Nice, I’ve seen the locker down safes. They are quite expensive at $300

I’m not sure, but interested to know, as well. Even a 4” barrel you’ll need to lay in sideway, I know even a smaller one won’t lay flat.

Looks good, I’ve been really looking at the console safes. Want to get one that you can open without the key always in, so most likely the combo lock

Any more info on this box? What are the internal dimensions? Wondering if a glock 19 will fit...

It will fit but not in a way you would want it to fit , probably be diagonal

I just installed a Console Vault into my 2020 Limited Tacoma. It's a crying shame that Toyota decided to make the volume of the console so small. The Console Vault fits light a glove and make use of every inch. It even has a cut-out for access to the two USB ports.

Did you install this one at the link or the OEM?

Well it only took me 9 months and finally found a deal on a Locker Down for $150.

My Sig 45 barely fits in it with slide laying flat on bottom and all 4 mags. A compact or sub compact would fit a lot better, but it works for what I wanted which is to lock everything up in the truck.

I’ll get some more pics with everything installed.

A Lock'er Down console safe was one of the first things I installed in my new truck. I'm seriously impressed with the build quality. Thing is a tank. Can't ask for much more.

I was able to purchase the OEM 2019 Tacoma Console safe - box, tax, and shipping for $245 total off of ebay. I don't know if that's expensive or a good deal, but this morning some numb nuts broke into my truck and stole some stuff out of the center console which peeved me off enough to buy it. I did an ebay search on the OEM part number 00016-35974 and it popped up.

I'm sure the other brands on sale may come up as well. I tried searching for Locker Down Toyota Tacoma, and one popped up for a 2nd gen Tacoma, and they wanted $299 or best offer and $45 shipping, I tried searching for Console Vault Toyota Tacoma, and the cheapest one listed for a 3rd gen was $254 with free shipping.

Now I have to wait and see if the OEM one actually shows up. It says new in box, but since it is ebay, you never know...

Any feedback on the Toyota OEM console safe? It uses the same lock setup that the E&G safe I had in my Ford used.
