Hi, tire question. Will order some duratracs for 2017 ORdblcab4x4 sbox.
Available to me are 265/70r16 and near same diameter but more narrow 245/70r16. I have blizzaks for winter.
Occasional sand/mud in spring summer and fall that the duratracs might see. Obviously will see some early or late snow as well. Blizzaks I have are 245/75/16. Tire rack recommended narrower for better snow traction. Work well. I do think I get better MpG with the narrower tire also.

Question is should I go 245/75/16 or 265/70/16?
The 245 come in two variations.
One is: service description 120/116Q, load range E.
Other is: 108/104Q, and load range C.
Are they both same softness of the compound? One going to wear more than other? Or just weight capacity and ride feel?
The 265/70r16 come in one flavor:
Service description: 112S, load range SL.

    thanks

    I got 90k out of my E rated 26570r16’s.

Could’ve gotten more if I rotated every 5k instead of 10k.

Not really, probably 80% pavement, 20% gravel.

My factory alignment started to go & tires started to toe out causing insides of tires to wear a little faster.

Thanks. I know a fam that drives at least 8 miles on gravel each day and they got similar mileage on the E rated.
I’ll have to look into if E rated in 265/70r16 is still available.

I have 265/70/17" duratracs, they do great in snow, dry, wet... etc... they handle mud fairly well, and dirt roads.... they do about all of it.. the center treds will cake up with mud, but the outer lugs are far enough apart that they clean out eaily, and maintain traction... I have about 16k miles on mine now. no regurts...

this picture is with no lift... stock TRD OR suspension 17x8.5 0ffset MR305NV's it rubs on the rear of the front inner fender liners.. I cut a 1" piece of the liner out, and fixed 90% if the rubbing issue.

Why do you think people feel the need to make claims like this?

I would think the Duratracs in 265/70/r16 are ideal for you in the SL load. They're what I have.

Judging by my treadwear so far, I expect to hit 60K miles easily. They are wider which I would imagine would be better for sand when aired down.
