I just recently purchased a Leer 100xr and in preparation for that install I pre-ordered some Victory 4x4 bed stiffeners and the #500 lb blue summo springs ... the install on both were pretty easy the summo springs being the harder of the two ... there are many YouTube vids helping with both... but if you have any questions fire away

I’ve been considering the sumo springs after my topper is installed (hopefully on the 9th), how do you like them so far? Have you towed since the install?

No towing yet but the ride is definitely different ... seems more in control and a less lean in the curves & turns ... also helped with the sag, I lost almost 1” after leer but gained it back after summo ... i def recommend the mod for under $200 as long as your comfortable doing it yourself

My ARE cap has the LED dome light in the back, but If you have an Aldi near you they have motion activated battery powered led lights that also have a light sensor to not come on during the day as a special buy. They have a bracket that angles them down at an angle. I used Velcro and mounted one in the curve of the roof across from each vented windoor. They stay off if I’m waving my hand in front of the window, but when it’s dark if I open either windoor or the back hatch they come on and stay on for 30 or 60 seconds after movement stops (opposite side light comes on from open windoor). pretty awesome and inexpensive lighting option and they look good too. You can also install a roof net system easily if you have tracks for a roof rack with some hardware from Amazon (m8 eye nuts, net, connectors)

The Velcro sticking to the carpet in the cap is insane. When I was adjusting the lights I had to work at it to move them. I’m pretty happy with this little mod. I get into my drivers side windoor often, and not having a light automatically turn on was kind of a pain in the dark. Simple and cheap solution.

Also I think sumo springs settle in some. Mine felt bouncy occasionally at first but now they feel perfect.

Thanks for the info guys! Also had a LEER on my ‘06, and when towing/loaded for vacation I was always riding the bump stops. I knew what I was getting into here, these look like a great solution!

I noticed a guy at work with a LB sport recently got a cap and he is starting to sag noticeably. They are an easy solution and I will likely keep them in even if I do a lift with new leafs down the line for extended bump stops. OEM leafs are just not designed to carry much weight.

Is everyone using the 500lb springs?

I have 1,000 lb. Sumo springs because I often tow a trailer that is tongue heavy. They seem to help a lot. With a cap and a load in the bed I would want the heavier version.

I’d try those first unless you plan on a lot of weight. The 500lb are rated for 500lbs at 50% compression. They noticeably firm things up. I’ve seen more negative reviews for the 1000lb sumos. They would be pretty firm for day to day driving without a heavy load.

Blue #500 lb will give you a better ride in the long run ... unless your going to towing or have your bed loaded down full time

My experience is different, I guess. The 500# springs aren't engaged until the truck squats quite a bit under load. The 1,000 springs touch the frame and leaf springs but are also not engaged until there is a load on them. I cannot feel any difference in day-to-day (unloaded) driving except maybe a little less body roll around corners at speed.
