Hey guys I’m hopefully going to be relocating to East Tennessee around either the Chattanooga or Knoxville area. I live in south Florida now and have a long commute so I’m leaving my truck stock until move. When I do I’ll have a much shorter commute so I want to get some 255-85-16 but i was wondering what you guys recommend for off-roading out in Tennessee? I see a lot of trails look like they are pretty muddy I’ll want to be doing some camping trips and was wondering if you think a mud terrain is better out in that area or if an all terrain will get me around most places?
    Thanks

I live in NW GA about half way between Atlanta and Chattanooga. I have family from Chattanooga all along the TN/NC border all the way to Virginia so I spend a lot of time in the area.

I wouldn't go with a true mud tire on a vehicle that was also used as a daily driver. Not all AT tires are the same. Some are much closer to a street tire, others pretty aggressive. I'd choose something on the aggressive side of an AT tire.

My preference is for a good AT on a truck that sees a lot more street miles than OR miles. I think the KO2 is the best and the SST MAX is also pretty good. If you don't mind the noise and short tire life on an expensive tire then Mud tires are going to provide better OR performance. I really like the SST PRO or the KM3. Just keep in mind you will get about 1/3 fewer miles out of MT tires over ATs. At $250+ per tire, you are really paying for the added performance.
