I picked this up off of 1 of my Son's good friends that upgraded to a new Tacoma crew cab as his young family was growing.

2005 Tacoma Off Road 4x4 locking rear diff
Just had the Frame recall done in August ( thought it was past the cut-off date ) but good for me...!!!
Serviced at the same shop for the past 7 years so I had them run it through the Safety Check to see what it needed for an owner transfer before I bought it and here is what they came up with.

    Intermediate steering shaft (binding)
Front u-joint (had them replace both since it was out)
Passenger parking brake cable binding (had them replace both)
Rear Brake shoes within acceptable limits but worn (had them replace everything)
Left rear tail light cracked and burnt bulb.

    So....$5000 Canadian for the truck
$1100 parts and labor and they threw in a Fluid Film spray job and the under body looks like a NEW truck.
$6200 licensed and on the road.

It has some Bumps and Rubs and a dent on the door and roof from a fallen tree branch. Brand new tires.

373,000 Kilometers (231,000 miles) runs like a top and NO leaks of any kind (my only concern, so fingers crossed on that)

It's now my new winter beater as I park my car for the winter.

So......I think the truck your looking at is WAYYYY over priced .....!!!!

I know Tacomas are supposed be fairly bulletproof but I'm still skittish about something with that many miles.

Of course the Mileage is a big concern also to me, but, even if I have to throw another engine at it for $3-4k. I wouldn't have a problem with that...I drive under 5k kilometers per year, so just may outlast me....or maybe not.

You always roll the dice on a used vehicle.

if what U want is permission to make a shakey deal...........by all means do it

    nothing is bulletproof

while choices are NOT plentiful/ deep buying mid sized new or used

U should NOT want others to rubber stamp feel good about a skiff taking on water

U havent read the many threads of many buying Used getting in UP to their Earlobes

    with crap previous owner overlooked

Toyotas start out very good......better than most

YET that leads to many doing LESS which leads to a level of Neglect

keep a ledger of things U will find wrong/neglected.................+ the costs

add it ALL up bottom line the truck U could have bought $$$$$ U spent

VS Ur justifications truck U have
