Thought I’d share with TW, SOS Offroad Concepts Black Friday sale. This year they’re doing an unprecedented 25% off all their products! :taco:

Use discount code BF20 to save 25%
(yes I know 20, that’s for the year.)

I’ve seen lots of posts about people discouraged when ordering from CA, CO, MT and WA because of the extra $100 admin fee. Unfortunately there isn’t much SOS can do about those fees as they imposed by the shipping company.
Although I encourage you to email sosoffroadconcepts@gmail.com or reach out via the contact us page if you do want to order and live in those states, there are exceptions to this policy and while I don’t know all the details, the SOS folks will be glad to answer if you email.

Also I’ve seen the following issues from other members on TW and they should be noted so that you, the customer, are understanding.
⁃ If your product gets delivered damaged from shipping, do not accept. Once you do there isn’t anything SOS can do for you replacement wise.
⁃ If you have a fitment issue with your product, DO NOT modify it anyway. This voids the warranty.
    ⁃ All sales are final.
Don’t hesitate to EMAIL SOS at sosoffroadconcepts@gmail.com with ANY question. (Within reasons folks, please don’t email asking about the weather or why your farts stink, what’s the largest tires I can fit on a stock 3rd Gen etc, etc)

Hope you folks can order and save some money on your armor needs. I realize that there has been some recent issues being brought up over and over and over, but I assure you if you email, your issue will be addressed and handled. As a last resort (after you email) I am willing to go to bat for you as another TW member who wants to see you as the customer done right.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this post and check out SOS Offroad Concepts sale at their website!

My favorite part of the SOS posts here now is all the fine print you guys have to make regarding customer service complaints, quality control and other issues that are on repeat with Eddy now.

    Inspires confidence.

Naw. I don’t have to post that.

I do that so that everyone doesn’t have to read the same posts that have been posted over and over again.

If you don’t have confidence then don’t buy. :notsure:
I’ve bought lots of things from them and had no issues.

Oh. And it’s not fine print. It’s right under the FAQ on the website. Here.

If you didn’t have to post it, you wouldn’t post it multiple times.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/sos-armor-issues.689815/

FAQs and “send them an email” only work when the company is receptive and responds. You pop up in all threads SOS and throw your discount codes around even though it’s in your signature (as you also like to remind). No surprise you have great things to say, most try hard influencers do the same.

I’m confused. Do you have a problem with your SOS armor?

Also, do you have a problem saving money? I don’t get anything as a reward for trying to save you money. If you have an issue with me sharing a discount code then you are more than welcome to hit that report button or not follow my posts.

I’m just another TW member trying to share a sale.

I’d just say, as a potential customer, I haven’t actually heard what went down with them here. With everything deleted, all that’s left are people saying they had issues with products and/or customer service. So if the biggest issue has been contacting them, then your advice that we contact them with any issues rings a bit hollow. I like what you are trying to do, the sales are great, I’ve always like the look of the stuff. They just need a little image rehabilitation around here it seems.

Promoting a company that has been removed as a vendor and has repeated quality and customer service complaints seems disingenuous to me.

And now we know why he has to keep posting the same disclaimers every post.

Because people show up just regurgitating the same replies.

Here is a simple life lesson that may work, if you aren't interested in buying their products then scroll on by. It actually takes less effort.

At least the guy is being transparent and upfront about everything. That's a welcome change to their TW customer service.

    2 things mainly
There was issues with the fitment of people stuff. Ex// a skid plate was bent incorrectly ex// skid bolts hole might have line up incorrectly ex// slider bolt holes have been to big for frame.
Most of these issues are 1 off issues that I have heard of. And these are only TW issues.

The second issue is there was an issue with Eddys voice mail being full and he was not taking calls. I also think people weren’t getting an email response quickly. But I’m not 100% sure on the said email issue.

I am stating this because you asked.
Now I will say that I have been saying to email because it seems that emailing is working out to be the best way to contact SOS and I have hearing that questions from emails are getting answered and that issues are getting rectified quickly.

I am interested in buying products, but me emailing the company about them isn't exactly impartial. Asking here is.

And since the entire subforum got deleted (hey mods, a suggestion to at least keep the information available in some form), threads like these are about the only recourse to ask questions.

The admin fee wouldn't apply to me, but if there are quality control issues that is something I'm very interested to know about before I pull the trigger. If the questions are answered to my satisfaction I don't have a problem being their customer.

E: The other thing I want to know is who initiated the process to no longer be a vendor - SOS or TW.

I know about the entire issue in regards to why SOS was removed as a vendor. From the man Bob himself.
Of the hundred and hundreds of orders there are of course going to be issues. That happens. We are all humans and make mistakes.
From what I understand. The issues that have been brought up were either 1) not brought to the attention of SOS 2) brought up, attempted to be fixed, customer did not like fix and was still angry

Whats the law that requires a $100 admin fee? I live in CO and order online all the time and have never heard this.

There are plenty of companies/ vendors on here who have little to no posts and the only way to contact them is via email. They also do not frequent TW.
I’m not only offering you an email way to contact SOS. But I’m also willing to put aside my own time (after you email) to make sure your issue is brought to the attention of SOS if you still have an issue. I am not a paid employee of SOS. I am just a member here on TW with SOS products I like and I’m willing to make sure you like the products as much as I do.

I appreciate that, and I wouldn’t rule out a small company being able to adapt and improve. I think people just want to know this is the case.

Something to do with the shipper importing items. It might not be a specific law. I will update post 1.

Good catch. Thank you. SOS ships with UPS unless they can box the item and then it goes USPS. Email SOS and they can get you a custom invoice if the $100 admin fee doesn’t apply to an order in that state. I’m not sure what items don’t have the fee.

Maybe lots of people coming in to let others know that a vendor has a certain history does a greater service to TW members than offering a discount
