I'm back with a new to me 2012 TRD Sport DCSB 2wd in the Pyrite Mica color. It has 126,600 miles and tons of maintenance records and I bought it from a private party here in So CA. It's rust free (except some minor sea air corrosion to the antenna base and front skid plate. I plan on taking it to my mechanic to do a once over after I look through the pile of maintenance records and see what's been done and what hasn't......

First thing I want to do is replace the hazed headlights with NEW OEM headlights......I'm sure someone can recommend a dealership/online site that has great prices and service and can ship to me??

Second thing I want to do is change out the goofy aftermarket grill insert with a NEW OEM grille insert, again I'm sure someone can recommend a dealership/online site that has great prices and service and can ship to me??

I also need to change out the corroded antenna base and want to again buy a NEW OEM one.

It has Snugtop Rebel bedcap with a drivers side "windoor" and the prolock wiring hooked up to the original remote.....and Thule racks.....all great cuz I'm in construction. The receipt for the Snugtop was over $2,500 and I consider it a big time score!

The tires are near new and are Bridgestone Dueler HL Alenza Plus which I've read are amazing all season light truck tires that have up to a 80,000 mile warranty......another big time score!

The roof has bad oxidation and the hood is starting to show some minor oxidation so I might get a quote to repaint those......and the shocks are original so I'll look into that as well but it seems to ride good still.

The interior is almost flawless as the guy had seat covers and the carpet looks new.....

He even had the original window sticker......base price was $24,510 plus it has display audio with Nav., JBL and sub....a $1,930 option.......plus TRD Sport extra value package ...a $3,760 option......plus tow package.....a $650 option ...and DRL, floor mats & door sill protector and exhaust tip....adding another $320.......all in with delivery the MSRP was $31,495. Quite the pricey truck back in 2012!

anyway, I'm super jazzed and I think I got a smoking deal at $17,000 CASH......I jumped on it the minute I saw it on Autotrader.......it was sold new in Huntington Beach, CA and was owned by both owners who live in Huntington Beach.....I'm real close to there.....no accidents, clean carfax with tons of entries for service and maintenance.....just hope I stick to my budget of ONLY spending $3k on service/upgrades/mods....LOL

Glad to be back to a Taco!!

I highly recommend McGeorge Toyota Parts(https://www.mcgeorgetoyota.com/parts.html) for all your genuine OEM replacement needs! They most times will have the best shipping prices, even to Hawaii and that says a lot.

However, a lot of the OEM grilles pop up in the marketplace section. They’re either usually in the chrome surround or no surround at all, though.
