Will a 1.25 inch spacer effect the steering with the stock tires. I understand the wider stance is better for stability and cornering. However will the steering be similar or maybe better with wider stance.

I have 2in Bora spacers and it's the best thing I have done and have had no issues with them I'm stock with stock sized tires I also added the rokblokz mudflaps they line up perfectly flush with the tires so no rocks slinging on the truck or onto cars behind me

Been running my Spidertrax 1.25 for years and wouldn't go back. Definitely caused some rubbing headaches that I had to sort out, but they are 'sort-out-able' and I love the stance.

Your steering will be heavier and have more of an on/off feeling. It works okay but you can't fine tune your steering inputs like the stock stance. It can in many cases increase your stability or cornering limits. I've run multiple wheels on all of my cars and most of them cornered better with a close to stock offset. It effects each vehicle differently and it's up to you what your priorities are. A Wider stance almost always looks cooler, you might not mind the steering changes. You might get away with spacers, but they are Hack and your truck is too nice to use stuff like that.

Why? I’ve been through this entire thread and no one has actually posted any hard data stating why they’re bad. I’ve been all over TW and hundreds of people run spacers and I have yet to see anyone have a negative experience.

Every lawsuit that goes to trial has a winning attorney and a losing attorney.

I believe that your point was that in a situation where a non DoT approved part failed and directly caused an accident, the insurance company could use this to deny the claim.

I am not aware of any statute that permits that and insurance companies are regulated by statutes.

I would also point out that the DoT does not certify anything. There are certain categories of parts (helmets, mirrors, windshields, tires, and brakes) that are Federally regulated, but it is far from comprehensive. Mostly you find a set of standards that a manufacturer can compare their products against and claim compliance, but they don't have a guy buying aftermarket air filters, wheel spacers, etc.

If insurance companies could get away with denying claims based on these kinds of factors, then good luck with larger tires, etc.

Just because a lawyer once told you and another sleaze ball lawyer once argued it doesn't make it so and clearly didn't work for the attorney who came after you before. Thank goodness.

I can see how all this could concern you or others, but it is about as likely as getting a care package full of chocolates and candies from your adjuster.

I'm guessing you watch a lot of day time TV and are an expert from watching the "we don't win unless you win your case" commercials. When you are sued, you are sued in civil court. This lawsuit is against you, not your insurance company (a falsehood that is regularly stated). Any judgement is against you, not your insurance company and your insurance company can and will deny liability if they can. When that happens, you have to pay. In civil court the rules are much different than criminal. There is no such thing as being guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The jury just decides if they feel you are responsible. You can think whatever you want and hope that your insurance company will pay. I can tell you from first hand experience that they don't want to pay and will look for every way out of paying that they can. If it is really worth the risk for you to do something dumb because you are too cheap to do the right thing, so be it, but don't come crying when Morgan and Morgan are taking your house, cars, etc.

So it looks like we have differing opinions here.

I will make sure to not come crying to you if my insurance company is allowed to deny my claim because I did not buy the DoT approved air freshener.

I am totally ok with you getting the final word in if you like, but insurance companies cannot deny the other person's claim because of anything you did. So losing your house was a scare tactic by both attorneys.

Spidertrax or Bora Great spacers. I’m running spidertrax 1.25” on stock off-road wheels. No problems

Do you notice any wobble or vibrations? My only experience was with OEM wheels on aftermarket tires on an FJ and it seemed the that I always was chasing vibrations at various speeds.

Discount Tires took care of me, but had allot of trips there.

Conversely, a part that says DOT/SAE approved doesn't mean shit to a cop too. They can give you a ticket regardless.

All good over here. Followed specs on install. Also every 5000 rotate tires myself so I check every time. Absolutely no issues. Gives Perfect poke for wheels and tires imo on stock wheelS

    Pros:
They stopped my front 33’s from rubbing on my UCA.

The set of spidertrax was the cost of 1 wheel, saving me from having to buy a full set of wheels immediately after buying tires when I wasn’t ready to buy wheels. I’m likely to go up in wheel size from 16’s to 17’s so I wasn’t wanting to drop $1600 on new wheels and tires after buying $700 tires that would have to be resold because of rubbing.

    cons:
I spent $200 on them and will only get $100 or so back when I do buy correctly spaced wheels.
