265/75R16 let's see them

36 here on my KO2. No issues.

 

I’ve got mine right around 33/34 cold. Wondering if I should bump up a few pounds

 

36psi in mine. I'm towing 3000lbs next weekend and am going to bump them up...thinking 40 to 45psi but I'm not sure?

 

I use this website to calculate tire baseline pressures when switching sizes/load ratings, I then adjust depending on how they wear/perform on and off road.

 

Well, I’ll probably need tires before the end the year and I really wanted Duratracs. I was planning on 265/75-16 in load range C for my all stock TRD OR but I might get the KO2 instead. I drive a lot and frankly I don’t get out and wheel much like I did in my Jeep days. Problem is I can only find load range E in that particular size. How are they over stock tires? I really don’t need such highly rated tires and frankly if the ride was at least stock or smoother I wouldn’t complain. I’m just afraid if I run E rated tires they’ll feel harsh, especially on our fine pot hole ridden California roads. Maybe running them 32-35 psi and the slightly bigger sidewall than the stock tires will help but what’s the real world say? They decent or harsher than factory?

I run “E” ko2’s and been running them at 32. Winter is starting to set in and bumped up to 36. Definitely feels firmer. Only thing I could say is do the “c” in the factory size. 265-70-16 unless you do a different tire all together I’d you don’t want the harshness .

 

I could, I just wanted the minuscule +1 on the tire size damn it. My main concern with the Duratracs is I commute over a mountain range every day I feel like those are just going to get all choppy and wore out. I rotate my tires every 5k with my oil changes but certainly the KO2 would probably suit my driving better. I feel like the factory size just looks dorky in the wheel well. Once we move in a year I’ll probably re assess and lift my truck/get better tires next time. Until then it’ll be what you mentioned, probably factory KO2 in the C flavor or perhaps I’ll get a +1 Duratrac.

For those with the Duratracs, do they get noisy over time or do they wear nicely?

 

I have a buddy that runs the duratracs... a little more hum then the ko2’s but got noisy the more miles driven on them.

 

What about the general grabbers?

 

I haven’t really looked into those honestly, maybe I should look at Coopers too. Coming from Jeeps I guess I’m just biased to what I’m used to seeing. Frankly if it’s not a 33/35/37x12.50 it just seems odd. lol

I actually really like the factory 16 inch wheels but I could see why so many folks go 17. Looks like better options.

 

I sometimes look to hard into tires that it’ll drive me nuts. Find a load range you want to run and then find a tire that fits your needs

 

The OEM size KO2’s are also E rated so that’s not an option for you. C rated can be had for 17in rims (265/70/17) but not 16in rims.

 

Just got back from a trip up and down The Lost Coast. Tires were decent off road and minimal noise on road. I can’t say anything about increased noise over time as the tires are still fairly new. As far as looks, I think these metric tires look skinny but that’s because maybe I’m used to seeing 33x12.5 on my Jeep. Good luck on your search!

Just a curiosity about this post ... why do so many people post pictures of their tires but not the brand? In many pics it’s very hard to tell even when zoomed in.

 

It normally pretty easy to pick out what tire they’re running.... but I hear ya

Hard to tell but those factory OR wheels with black decals? Looks good. Any lift or factory height?
