    Hey Guys,

I recently got the new FlipFlob For Tacomas by Meso Customs @MESO

I just finished the installation and was wondering if any of you have experience a rattle once is assemble? Its very noticeable. I took it apart three times and I followed Mesos youtube videos but the rattle is still very noticeable. This is my first Meso purchase, no disrespect to Meso but for $70 this is annoying me.

I uploaded two videos to YouTube for better understanding.

I ordered their new "ultimate" 2nd gen dome light a few weeks ago. Got it delivered and the contact that plugs into the socket was too short, by a lot. Their response was just to 'bend the socket tabs in and it should fit'.

Ended up cutting that one off and soldering my own on.

Not related to your problem unfortunately, but like you said kind of annoying after spending $50

There is a little play(the mechanism needs some tolerance, in testing if it was too tight it would bind when flipping open) However, yours looks extreme. I would suggest to rewind the spring and reset the mechanism. A how to can be found here; www.mesocustoms.com/install
I just tested one I had on the bench and it's pretty tight

I understand where you are coming from, the bulb adapter could fit a little better.. I agree. A custom part should drop in 100% without modifications. Bending the contacts in is a small annoyance, but I don't really consider it a permanent modification. The main reason is so I could streamline production of all the LED boards. (3rd gen, 2nd gen, 4runner, etc) and make them all the same.
Once installed, I have not had any issues with them coming out or losing contact. But if you already soldered a new one on, that works too:)

Funny... because nearly every mod that I've ever done to my truck, required some sort of modification... regardless of how much I paid for it.

Is that bulb adapter supposed to be that small , doesn’t even fit in the factory contacts. Or is that the Meso housing.

    Thats the point.

I do understand what @MESO is saying from a manufacturing standpoint. But still.. My main concern was just about it getting loose after lots of dirt roads. Didnt want to deal with the possible hassle of that

Are you experiencing issues with the 3rd gen dome? They should fit perfect.

Ok, this is not working out. I'm a bit frustrated to be honest. I, again, follow your videos and again the result is the same. I did this five times already.

I inspected the internal parts and I can see that they are somewhat chipped. Please see above picture.

My products aren’t perfect, neither am I. But I will do anything I can to get any issues corrected and the customer squared away.
Send me a PM with order number. I’ll send a whole new flip mechanism to rule that out.

Wow. Nearly 2 yrs for the second gen domes to come available and I hate to say that’s the quality that came out of the long wait. And his answer is my stuff isn’t perfect , after the long wait they should have been perfect. What a disappointment. At least the gas cap holder I have works. Guess that’s all I’ll be buying.
