Quite a few Tacomas in the past but none like this one. Loving this friggn truck. This was the maiden voyage - many small trips before but this one took me out west to Big Bend.

    Driver side seat belt indicator:
30+ miles of washboard roads just to get to the ranger station. Another 15 miles to get me to a remote camp site. About 1/2 way to the camp site, my driver side seat belt indicator starts flashing. But I have it on and engaged. I shut it down, restart, go about a mile and it comes on again. Loose wire somewhere? It has not come on since doing this last Thursday when i arrived...even leaving the park on those same washboard roads.

PCS warning light came on as I was leaving the park. Entire truck is covered in that beautiful west Texas red dust. Figured this one out. Dust was disabling this feature.

Thanks for any direction on the seat belt light.

I know those washboard roads well, they will certainly find any loose wiring or mechanical issues. Is Soltario open?

Hey OP, after I crashed my Sport in October, a friend lent me his car to get around. His seatbelt/airbag symbol flashed on his dash for some time and he didn’t know why. I plugged in my ThinkDriver OBD2 reader and it said it was the sensor module in the seat belt that had a ground fault going on.
Look up that OBD2 reader. It’s the best I ever owned.

Sounds like a loose connection, maybe peek at the wire coming from under the seat, if not get it to the dealer.
I am intrigued by your story, sounds awesome! Post some pics of camp and whatever you're hunting or fishing!

Yeah, I'm selfish,I really didn't intend to help, just wanted hunting pics

PCS is normal, it hates washboard. The constant jolting keeps it from obtaining a decent image. It will reset itself as soon as you get on smooth roads again. The drivers belt probably has a loose/dirty connection as said earlier.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm still off today and planning on putting together a trip report. Please stop by and take a look when posted. Small teaser...I'm home earlier than planned due to the pharking covid, ranger staff getting infected - again - yes again, and the pharking suits in Austin with their "close it down now" mentality. Blood pressuring going up thinking about it. Planned this trip for 6 months.

@Interbeing ...most if not all 4wd trails were closed per ranger and confirmed by the signs I saw along the main road headed to Fresno Vista where I camped. ALL were to be opened Saturday or Sunday...but see above comment. I'm headed back in March with my son and plan on exploring much more. I was in absolute awe where I camped. Best sleep I've had in a while. But Gual or similar looks pretty awesome for next trip. Open to recommendations on camp site and easy trails...I have brush scratches down the sides from this trip so want to minimize if i can. It's a damn truck though.

@TacomaBeast67 thank you sir. I'll look into that too. Odd that it hasn't came on since last week.

@Chew Thank you too. No hunting pics but dang let me tell what I saw. And no, it was too early to be drinking. :D There be some black bear up in 'dem hills! Only iphone pics and looks like a big black pixel. But I watched in awe for about 30 minutes. It hung around a spot on the hill side for a while before moving on. Ranger said it probably found a bee hive. And yes food was secured in truck.

Thank you. I assumed it was the dust. But just confirmed what you said too via the CFA_TSS precautions PDF.

Damn dissapointing. This is wildflower season - I was considering slapping together a last minute trip this week. Guess It'll be Arkansas instead... :(

Ive seen bear shit when hiking Pine Canyon (behind chisos basin), but never laid eyes on a bear. That's cool, would love to sight one like that. Ive also heard a burro getting taken down by something at three AM, camping in gravel pit. Whatever it was, the kill was fast and quiet, and only about 100 yards away. I chose not to investigate that one. :alien:

Dang, I was out there in September and they were all closed as well. I have a mountain biking trip planned back out there for the Thanksgiving week with my grandson. We were hoping that Soltario would be opened. I guess now the park could even be closed again. I am getting so frustrated with this COVID crap!

YES THAT LAST SENTENCE. Me too. Hope you get to enjoy some time out there soon with your grandson. I'm 50 but you're making me remember times with my Pawpaw. Thank you for that.

Posted my trip report over in trip reports. Y'all stop by if you want.
