I can't leave anything well enough alone
forgive me for not being in the loop more with this. I assume there is some documentation thread elsewhere that has details, install, pics, info, etc? Probably someone will point out a bazillion page discussion on the efan vs mech fan debate, more looking for something specific to this product.

Few things I would like to know:
    • Does it increase fan speed based on AC input in any way. The truck will at least idle up regardless of temp right now to spin stock fan faster. With efan, will it still idle up even though there is no mechanical fan attached?
    • Are there really just dials on the controller for when it switches, ramp rate, etc? What happens if we are putting in a colder thermostat and want it to start ramping sooner than OEM temps?
    • are there any sort of fail safe mechanisms for the system, if something stopped working are we relying on monitoring temps to shutdown and prevent overheating?
    • does the coolant sensor just splice into the main radiator upper hose?
    • I assume from picture that the bracket is meant to be bolted/secured to the oem shroud, how deep does it sit compared to the round outlet the oem fan currently nests in? Looks like there is about 1" or so from this fan to where the mounts attach, is that right, where there is a fairly decent size gap from fan blade to shroud, or is there a way to tighten that clearance with a ring of sorts up to improve efficiency and reduce air going around the blades? (BTW, not like stock has this in anyway). Watts and CFMs are not as meaningful if the fan isn't installed in a way that makes it efficient and prevents recirculation, especially out around the blade tips.
    Thanks...

    Lots to come
    - the controller does not have an input for ac. but the we have it set to start spinning at 15% command at 150 degrees. so the fan should be running as soon as the truck comes up to temp.
-the controller has open dials to set starting and full command temp settings. we pre spec it for stock applications but you are freee to adjust. the command is a linear command from start temp at 15% command to max temp at 100%
    - yes the coolant tamp is spliced into the upper rad hose. this was done to keep it a closed loop system. also allow to be reverted to stock with a upper rad hose and putting the fan back on.
-the fan sits inside the round part of the shroud and is about an inch from the edge. it is the largest diameter pulse width modulated fan on the market period. it sits in the same position as the stock fan takes up.

This group buy is just getting claimed by all of my boosted guys. So far I see 5 of us including myself who purchased and one is currently inquiring about it. ;) (EDIT: Scratch that, make that 6, a 7 inquiring)

Now you know who dominates the performance section of TW. We don't just talk the talk, we put our money where our mouth is. We are serious about our mods and we work hard to run the best and most quality items and are not afraid to pay $$ for them if and when we feel they will make significant, notable improvements to our trucks.

Good on you boys. I'm proud of you.

    A few more questions:

In the main thread you refer to a 40% command at 180F degrees start temp. In this thread you mention 15% command at 150F degrees start temperature. Has your personal experience with the set up changed your opinion on the "default" command % and start temperature for your kit? Is setting command percentage at any programmed start temperature also a feature of the Lingenfelter VSM-002?

When the ignition is turned off, does the efan continue to spin and ramp down the fan until the start temperature is reached?

Also, does your personal truck make use of the "Override Input" feature of the Lingenfelter controller to manually turn on your fan at 100% (70A) full speed? Are there real life circumstances where I might want to make use of this feature?

We def are hoping to use the override and kick that bad boy on at idle when temps are up especially in boosted trucks its a big issue. The use at idle may be the big selling point for a few of us.
