    Hello all,
About a month ago my smart key died so I changed batteries and everything was smooth. Fast forward to this week and now both my smart keys don't work. I changed both batteries and still nothing. The red light will still light up on the keys but my taco wont detect the keys. Not sure why this is occurring anyone got any solutions or reasons? I tried checking fuses and could not find any issues I even contacted a lock smith. But they said that my keys don't need to be reprogrammed this is something I have to take to the stealership... I have an appointment but before I go I would like to see if anyone has any suggestions. As I am very confused and don't know what to do

    Thanks :)

Any mods recently, like LED light upgrades, etc?

Nothing recent, I have ditch lights and remote start. I have had the remote start for 4-5 months and ditch lights for 8 months

    Maybe defective Fobs?
Or, maybe a battery issue or interference?

Does the remote start have any fuses of its own? Maybe an inline fuse behind a panel? Try unplugging the remote start and seeing if the remotes work.

Also, where did you get the remote batteries from? I've had bad luck with coin cells from Amazon being weak or expired.

Also had this issue with IKEA batteries. I had to go back to Duracell

This was the exact issue, just fixed it right now thx! I have the remotestartx kit from Amazon. I unplugged the wire that plugs into my steering column and the keys worked again. Rewired the remote start kit and all is good again... I believe the issue is not from the kit but from my previous install... I ordered many parts during early covid and they did not arrive till the weather was hotter and more unforgiving. So I got lazy on some of the install and tucked the remote module away in a bad area. It kept falling out but I just kept tucking it away and ignoring it, which likely caused this. Thank You all for the help :)
