    Easy +10 hp added today.

    Removed 15.5" off my antenna.

Also removed all my patches in preparation for dropping her off at the bodyshop tomorrow for repairing the almost $10 grand (cad $) worth of hail damage from a bad storm a couple months ago. Get a new windshield finally after having a large crack for a year and a half.

Not too excited about driving around a rental for three weeks.

Also bought a piece of 16 gauge sheet metal to make a guard for my meth tank/pump/hoses although that won't happen until I get the truck back. Maybe some preliminary measuring so I can cut and bend as needed so it's roughed in for my trucks return.

Does HP tuners have a valet mode for you to use with the body shop?

Good question. It might have something but I'd have to flash it in the parking lot with the laptop. I think I will zip tie the bypass valve though.

At least then if they drive it they'll be like "this thing sucks balls".
My clutch has gotten easier with break in but that may be a deterrent as well.

That's a great idea. I was thinking remove the supercharger belt, but ziptie on the bypass is much less work.

Ya - when I took my truck to get the tail lights tinted the guy backed it into his garage while I was there and nearly stalled it. But he actually did surprisingly okay.

Also speaking of antenna removal. You may not have seen this when we met the other day. I'm going for broke with this mod. The reduced wind resistance is incredible.

I totally noticed that and liked it. Decided I didn't like having a three foot dick of a radio antenna so it's only a foot and a half now. Shrinkage.

I don't listen to radio much unless wife is in truck. I'm guessing your reception sucks now lol.

    Street cred gone indeed.

Hopefully there will be some significant fuel savings at least.

Yeah, I'd feel the same way tbh.

Yeah I love it. The guy who did it for me was just starting out (he has a full on shop now so I'm sure he charges a lot). Was $60 to get them done, and it's high quality vinyl.

My opinion of this marvelous rental Ford eco-something-or-other after driving it for a day.
    • I want to drive with a bag over my head.:anonymous:
    • I feel my masculinity being stripped away every time I get behind the wheel. :tinfoilhat:
    • My son (4 1/2 years old) doesn't like it either but I think he's parroting my opinion.
    • Floor it and it slowly starts to build up to something resembling speed around 5-10 seconds later. :turtleride:
    • I'm going to see if I can drive for three weeks without gassing up. Entirely probable as I don't want to drive it. :poking:
    • The steering feels ok.

Truck came back from the bodyshop and looks great. Was hoping for good weather to snap a couple of nice pics but Canada thought otherwise so snapped pics in front of house before snow covered everything and while the truck was still detailed.

Also, new windshield is sure nice after rolling around with a huge crack for what feels like forever.

    Back from the bodyshop

Also changed meth nozzles to two 375 cc/min (750 cc/min total from 640 cc/min), have yet to tweak the controller.

Then blew some donuts in a parking lot. Wasn't enough snow yet to really go crazy though.

    De-badging the Sun Visors

Always hated the obnoxious warning labels. Steamed to remove the labels. First two easy-peasy then third one was a bastard crusty dried out label with too much glue or something. Used goo gone to remove the glue residue as much as possible and dish soap and water to try to remove the goo gone. Some slightly oily looking spots remain (not really noticeable in the truck) but looks so much better now.

Edit: a month later the goo gone seems to have dried fully and spots aren't visible anymore.

    Initial removal of label

    The Meth Tank Bash Guard

16 gauge steel is not super easy to hand bend into nice 90 degree corners but along with some hammered edges it came out pretty decent.

Was originally only going to do one piece but figured two pieces screwed together would give me extra coverage and strength in the middle section where it may take a beating. I really should buy a welder and learn to weld (better).

    Test fitting
    PXL_20201029_222930259.jpg

Some flat black rustoleum to keep the steel from rusting.
    PXL_20201031_195041201.jpg

And screwed together with some edge trim on the top and bottom to look pretty. PXL_20201101_202826108.jpg

Waiting for clear coat to dry tonight and then the plan is to add a bunch of stickers. It looks so pretty now but it is a bash guard so might as well sticker it up. Five wing nuts will hold it in place so that it can be removed tool free if needed.

    Leaf Spring Clamps

Read about this in a traction bar thread and looked into it further before installing some leaf clamps ($25 cad) to reduce axle hop. Old drag racer trick apparently. As per a YouTube video I mounted them 6" in front of the axle. It seems to have stiffened up my bagged stock leafs and the rear end feels more planted and solid so extremely happy with this cheap mod. Only one test drive thus far though.

*Edit - after driving with these for a while I'm not taking them off. I definitely need to replace my bagged leaf springs soon though.

Spray bombed black before install. May cut them down a bit and flip them upside down at a later time.
