As a first gen that off roads, what I don't like about my bud built is I can't install it yet lolz. It will require that I get a new muffler/cat back. Maybe every truck is different, little bends, exhaust hanger bends etc, but there is now way to 'push' the exhaust over enough to allow fitment of the trac bar. Pretty peeved with this as a) advertised as bolt on and b) I actually don't want to touch my exhaust at all. 18 y/o me would be all over any excuse to mod the exhaust, ~3X me loves the OEM lack of noise.

I have a set of the pro comps on my 6 inch lift, I wouldn't have a truck without them now a days, when I was a teenage I would go through so many rear ends from everything shifting

    Bump for more options.

I'm not a fan of the bud built design because it uses the studs for the pumpkin. Torque spec for those is only 33ft/lbs.

My truck goes off-road tho so not willing to sacrifice ground clearance.

No money for a proper linked long travel setup. Just looking to stop axle wrap

    OP,

Were low speed vibes all you had before installing the Caltracks?
I am on a quest to reduce (and hopefully eliminate) high speed vibrations on my 2nd gen.
I was thinking on giving these Caltracks a try

Yeah, the vibration was from accelerating hard and getting axle wrap, a common issue. If i accelerated gently or was driving at any other higher speed there was no vibrations. The traction bars only functioned to reduced the axle wrap from acceleration.

This is exactly what is happening to me.
The vibrations don't get too bad for low speeds, but on the highway it can get pretty bad. I even got a Tom Wood's driveshaft. They have been very helpful throughout the process though. I am just waiting for my new leafsprings to test that before ordering the Caltracks. I still have the 3 leaf set, so the new pack is a 4 leaf set.
    Thanks for your response!

I think I am ready to try the Caltracs. I totally forgot about these posts on quotes.
Did you manage to get rid of the rattling noise?
Or maybe figured a way to keep the bolts from loosening?
    Thanks

Caltracs are noisy and squeaky. Unless you need them for drag racing, you probably should look somewhere else. I haven't read all 3 pages, but you can use a clamp just forward of the axle. Lots of drag racers using a clamp to reduce wheel hop. Only costs a few bucks.

The heim joints can always be changed to the nylon or whichever insert style.

Never did. They got to a point and just never got worse and asnt really that bad. The heim joints did wear out eventually. I put about 105k on my set before i removed them for a lift.

I've had mine on foe a number of years, of which I would have to look back to determine. However, mine being a street truck, and my driving style, hasn't exacerbated their wear.

I was surprised to see you still here doing your thing. I haven't been on here much in the last couple years. I daily the Tacoma now so i have basically left it be. My current project is a 335xi with a Precision 6266. Now thats speed my tacoma could never achieve.

 mate. Still enjoying the adventure of the curriculum that the Tacoma offers me. :D

Now that car is a zinger with that setup! I can only imagine what my little 328IS will be like with a similar setup. Especially since it is already track prepped.

Makes me want to lift the truck back up at times. Then I'd have both lifted and lowered turbo vehicles. Ahhh

Or you can buy my PreRunner and have a lifted and lowered Tacoma...

I just tried this and it seems to work great on my bagged stock leafs. Stiffened up the rear suspension and it seems more planted at the same time. Pretty awesome for $20.
