Whole Lee Hell those things are expensive! I'm not an audiophile, do they make good stuff? I have a little Bose sound bar I got on sale at the outlets that does pretty well in my living room but I know, in the grand scheme of things, Bose isn't all that great.

Honestly i'd make room in the back for something bigger/deeper but if you insist on going under your seat you could do something like this Rockford.

Kicker makes this one, specifically for under the seat.

Focal makes one too but it's a lot more expensive!

With all this talk about snow tires, I ended up mounting my snows today. The FJ center caps are a PITA x 100 to mount correctly. I also need to find some thin walled impact sockets to get the lugs off in the spring.

[IMG]IMG_8034[2179] by Mike M, on Flickr

TBH, I don't love them as much as I had anticipated. Maybe I just need to clean the truck as glaringly clean wheels on an otherwise gross truck doesn't help. Maybe I should have went back to the stock OR wheels on slightly larger tires, or maybe I'll eventually hunt down a set cheap of Sport alloys in the next few years. They seem to trade cheap as they're less desirable than the 3G OR wheels. Whatever happens 5-6 years when I replace these snows, I'll likely go back to a 16" tire and run the TRD OR wheels.

I still need to pull my bar, put the tonneau back on and swap out the grille / fogs, but this was a project done.

    Thoughts?

Which is wild because they're 265/70-17 which is the same size as my BFGs (and bigger than my last snow set). I just don't want to go down the road of cutting the truck or spacers to fit 285s.

I have a pair of 201 Series IIs. They are weird speakers with a tweeter that faces backwards. They were beat up when I got them, so I mounted them outside under the pergola. When they start to fall apart, whatever. I'll buy some true outdoor speakers then.

My real gems are a pair of Dahlquist DQ20s. My former boss gave them to me when he moved. They need a little work--there is a company in NY that builds woofers and some day I may send them out. They also sell parts that I am missing like binding posts. Then I hear they work best on a 200+ WPC tube amp.

No clue, I think I was told shipping wasn't the issue because I said I would work around the shipping issue by picking it up. I just wish they would make the dam thing, it looks SO much better.

I'm just laughing over here looking at my house stereo. It doesn't even have Dolby Pro Logic! But small house requires less watts. I rarely get the chance to turn it up loud to begin with either..but when I do get to listen to it full blast, so does the whole street. Mostly Pioneer stuff.

@Pugga Bose isn't terrible by any means. Ain't the name they were 25 years ago necessarily but at what point one balances cost/time using the stuff is up to the individual.

Looks fine to me, winter wheels aren't necessarily for show by their own design anyways. Long as they work.

Bose are not very good at all. They do have a good marketing department though! They like to make people think that they make good speakers!

I will say one thing though. Bose makes decent headphones though. Not the best but no bad either!

Bitchin! I know politics aren't allowed, but I hope this is acceptable to celebrate given the context of this forum :D I'm in RI. Wonder how this will affect out of staters going to Mass shops/buying from Mass dealers instead. Haven't spent any time researching it, I'm not from MA.

But, looks like RI is officially changing its name.
