Any PC Builders Out There?

Where do y’all live that you need 2 days of battery?

 

It's more that I either forget to throw my phone on the charger at night or I'm out for a business meeting and forget to bring a charger. Two full day battery life let's me go find a powersource the second day.

I'll also throw in that even though I wasn't a pre-order Samsung did give me a neat little wireless pad battery bank that also helps with the second situation. My wife steals it all the time lol.

 

I got so lucky. Micro Center Discord said my local store received 18 yesterday. I picked up the 10th during my lunch break. Apparently they aren't getting anymore until at least Friday. My mind wanted me to wait for 6800XT benchmarks but the heart said get the 3080 now.

 

Just giving you a hard time . I love the FE though and have had no worries about it. I didnt need to size of the ultra, so that is why I waited for the FE. Same processor and same AMOLED screen just a tiny bit smaller.

 

@Jester243 newegg confirmed 6am PST. I'd expect most retailers to be there too.

Per newegg 5900 and 5950 stock is very limited. 5600 and 5800 is "much better".

 

You guys really make me want to go find my credit card and grab a 5950X and a 3080 and a new MB and new RAM and an AIO cooler...


Leave it to the truck forum to make me want to buy PC parts.

 

Well it's like a truck in some ways.

I moved my radiator to the outside with the fans sucking the cool air in from outside.



and like a modified engine the hood will not shut. I have to modify the cover tomorrow.

She is clean and purty on the inside.

 

anyone built in the NZXT h1 case? im considering it for my next build. the old girls getting long in the tooth after 8 years.


and i keep running out of harddrive space.. those NVME drives are so nice after having one in my laptop that i cant justify a 5th 2.5" SSD for this computer.

 

Now that I'm poking around at these GPUs, is NVIDIA not doing the auto notify thing?
Or am I missing it? I just see 'check availability' and then it takes you to a 3rd party retailer.

JK EVGA was doing that, not NVIDIA.
(I added myself to the list for a 3080 FTW3 Ultra )

 

If I do end up getting that 3080, it'll be on par with my previous GPU upgrades..

Bots win again. You two have better luck? I had one in my Newegg.com cart but it kept flipping me to Newegg.ca and losing it. Newegg.ca never saw them.

 

I generally dont bother with Day 1 launches. Sit back and watch the shit show...sure. Actually buy...pretty rare. Thats pretty common for nay products for me though

At least with this launch it is sounding like a lot more actual people got to place orders. Just not much stock for the 5900/5950 so went fast. And newegg might have oversold the 5800 and is canceling orders (but id say just a rumor at this point).

I did place a backorder for a 5900 though. And did pick up a 5600 (which is still showing available from Amazon) that I dont know if ill keep or not lol

 

Nope. Release was right as I left work.
Not too worried about it. GPU first, then everything else.

 

i was there and on AMD's site. i tried to add one to my cart on AMD and it froze up, gave an error and well... i still have a case with no processor and now everything is sold out

 

You can pick up a 5600x off Amazon still. Bit of a delay in shipping but least its something

Bestbuy still hasnt gone live with their stuff either. Not sure which cpu you were looking for though? It seems like best buy has better bot protection than other sites (least based on 3070 launch)

I know it likely makes no major difference, but if you're sucking air IN from the top, you're working against convection & the hot air from your components and the heat dissipated from your CPU rad is just kind of being blown around inside your case. CPU temps will likely drop, but keep an eye on an increase in VRM & GPU temps. Again, probably nothing major, but just something to keep an eye on for a couple of days.
