Tried mixing some riffs with drums last nite. Gotta work some bass in and see if I can get a decent mixdown.

Ordered a 5751 preamp tube to bring down the gain a bit on this Orange. It goes HARD and I want to have a little more control in the low-mid gain area.

Never tried swapping out tubes to change sound. I know the tubes on my 6505 are not cheap though.

You don't have to change all the tubes. Sometimes simply pulling a preamp tube or swapping one out makes a change. Preamp tubes are usually cheaper than power tubes, too. I swapped out the rectifier tube on my Deluxe Reverb Reissue to lower the headroom and get it into breakup territory more easily (opposite of what I'm doing with the Orange) and it made the amp more "squishy," which I like.

Groove tubes are pretty even keeled, although, I’d get a matched set instead of replacing just one.

Not in the market for a 5 bill bass, but this looks interesting. Know nothing about these..

    Yep, got that.
It was the pickup config that got me dreaming... Im kind of missing having something around with an 81/85 to pick up.
Best review for me is from someone that has actually used the thing being reviewed.
    Appreciate it.

Thats still a lot of $$$ for me atm but someday I'll get a "real" guitar and amp.

Tiesco aren't really the greatest even thought they are Japan made. Played a couple at pawn shops. Horrible string height and just not really playable instruments inmo.

I had a really cool pair of Tiesco checkmate 88's. Cool for the vintage vibe but they were both horrible amps.

Listened to a demo, sounded flat and tinny. Probably would work well if you were into playing traditional Japanese instrumental music. Not what us Americans are used to hearing from an electric bass

Rather interesting. Apparently the bridge has been upgraded with a fender bridge and big brass block.

From my understanding, American fender bridges have to wide of spacing. It has to be an import bridge.
