It's actually more responsive in the mid range. Low-end pick up is about the same.

I was not expecting anything to feel different after the fix, low-pressure pump is just for idling, I thought. And everything felt normal on the drive home from the dealership. That is until I got to a long, steep hill that I always drive on. The usual struggle was just not there. I found myself passing slower traffic, which on that hill, on the Tacoma was unheard of

I wonder if they tweak with the software somehow (??). I've always liked this truck, but now, I guess I like it more.

Probably had the battery disconnected and is going thru a relearn proceedure.

Check your hood, they may have updated the ECU calibration to a more recent one. Hard to know since your vehicle info is not filled out.

Probably set your tires to the correct pressure.

Not that complicated... your truck wasn’t getting proper fuel to the engine ...new pump corrected the problem .

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Not really possible as you'd be running lean and have a bunch of warnings about low pressure in the rail. Fuel trims would also be getting pegged out. As others said, its probably new ecu calibration, maybe they reset your transmission adaptive (not really part of the procedure) so most likely the new/shiny placebo effect.

I have mine scheduled for the 17th.

Is there anything else I should have them look at while it's in?

They'll accidentally install a turbo on your truck. Spooky

Yea, this could be it. So, that means that I've been driving it like a granny and at the moment is reset to Olympic athlete mode.:benchpress:

I can't think of anything else. Unless of course, there's anything that's not working properly.

Quite a few things at this point..
I noticed the same after my recall. Truck seems to be doing better in its acceleration, not by a large amount by any means, but noticable still.

My wife's 2018 Camry XLE V6 (basically the same engine) was subject to the same recall. The way she drives, if it made a difference she'd have noticed, and she hasn't. I think it's your imagination.

Knock on wood everything has been good so far but I will have them investigate TSB 0071-19 for the coasting from 30-10 vibration.
