Title probably says it all... I had read plenty of places that it would be no problem to fit 265/70/R17 BFG AT KO2 tires on my stock 2007 TRD Sport extended cab.

I'm super new to owning a truck and all of this, but long story short, there is a slight rub on the front tires at low speed and 4/5ths turn.

    Seeking best option.

    A) Return the tires (this would be burdensome, as they were back ordered and shipped here to hawaii, and there were no stock size available).

    B) Remove plastic fender and mud flap (I already used a heat gun to melt it a little, but still didn't resolve the rubbing.

    C) Add a leveling kit (would this give me the additional clearance needed?) - perhaps my favorite option if it means resolving this issue without having to spend a fortune...

    D) Other.

When are your 265’s rubbing? I have a 07 I ran with worn out stock suspension and 265’s for two years and never rubbed at all. Is it just hitting the mud flap? I would bet so just pullem 265 may not be printed on the door but it’s the stock tire for it 245 looks like a doughnut

Yeah, they rub on the front mud flaps at low speed when cranked 4/5ths of a turn. I'm not even sure but guessing stock is 265/65/R16 or 265/65/R17... previous tires were 265/65/R17 and had a blowout so went with the bigger (in-stock) option and didn't expect any issue.

Honestly it could be purely because those BFG’s have larger tread on the side vs the old ones that 5mm of sidewall shouldn’t make or break you.. couple that with a stock worn out suspension anything is possible I guess. take the flaps off wear down some tread and throw them back on

    What's a "leveling kit"?

Mine didn't rub with 265 70 17 at stock ride height (TRD Sport)

front mudflaps as in front axle
or in front of the tire
if there was any in front of the tire
    mine may be missing
at front and rear axle, I have Rokblokz behind the tire

Wow I didn’t even know returning tires was an option after finding out they rub. It’s like buying shoes and returning them after a few uses lmao

I use that size on my 15 DC SR 4.0. I had to remove the front bumper mudflap 4in thing. It does rub something from time to time.

Have you gotten out of the truck during the rub to pinpoint exactly where you are rubbing? You mentioned front mudflaps...do you mean the little ones on the front of the truck or the mudflaps behind the front wheels? The little ones in front are easy to remove, I had some rubbing there and I just took them off. Before I looked I was certain I was rubbing on the flaps behind the front wheels. Just my two cents.
