I have a 15 SR DC 4x4 4.0L. The last time I went off-road I really noticed the limitations of my struts/shocks/springs. I want to get a 2.5in lift with new rear leaf springs. As the rear leaf springs are giving me nothing but problems. Yet I don't want to spend like $5k. I found every time I go over a fair-sized obstacle, I would bottom out every time no matter the speed. I'm guessing the dampening of SR struts and shocks are garbage. What would it take to get a good lift that wouldn't be super stiff? As this is my daily as well. I gather I will need UCA's. So I'm looking at SPC.

Currently, I have wildpeak at3 265 70 17. I have RCI steel skid plates. I plan to do a front Mob Town hitch/winch. Also plan to install a standard metal bumper and sliders soon. As this is currently being garaged in a bit of a tight space. I have a little weight added to the truck between stereo and tonneau cover, yet nothing dramatic.

I'm not sure I want to spend on something like King or Fox but I'm open to opinions.

I offer Dobinsons suspension, and there are a few solutions to get you into a really good riding suspension at a low cost if you want with full leaf packs. The twin tube shocks ride really great, and are a lower price than the other 2 options.

During this whole month, we're doing 15% off everything from Dobinsons, so it's also the best pricing of the year.

Edit: Oh and there are several heights to choose from. 2.5" up front, it would be beneficial to run new UCA's so that you get the full travel easily up front and a better alignment too.

When I first did my lift, I went with Bilstein 5100s all the way around with 885 coils up front and an AAL in the rear. Over time, as I've added more and more to the truck (sliders, skids, front bumper, winch, HC rear bumper, bed bars, and RTT) the limitations of that combo have pushed me to a new setup. I just bought (but have not installed) OME 90000 shocks with 886 coils for the front and Icon RXT springs for the rear, though Dakars were an option I was considering as well.Unless you are planning on going more than 2.5" on the front, UCAs might not be necessary. I would also lean more towards JBA Offroad UCAs instead of SPCs, but that is just my opinion.

if you dont want to spend the big bucks on the Kings or Fox shocks, you should check out the Bilstein kits and Dobinson kits. Dobinson makes full kits with Leaf pack options and they are much much more budget friendly and still a great quality product. Bilstein makes awesome shocks as well, 5100 series and 6112s are a great combo and will run about 1k total, plus a icon or deaver leaf pack or ADD-A-LEAF to go with the shocks would not only support the extra weight, but give you more travel and a better ride.

you dont need a UCA with the bilsteins but it certainly doesnt hurt, id avoid the SPC UCA, they are decent and budget friendly but we have seen them get knocked out of alignment multiple times because of that adjustable ball joint system they use. most aftermarket UCA kits(icon, camburg, dobinson, freedom, etc) will give you the correct caster and camber.

we are located in PHX, AZ if you need a place to get it done for you

Fox is the way to go and you won’t have to spend $5000. You can do it for 1/2 of that.
