I was wondering if it is possible to relocate the blind spot monitor after putting on a rear bumper to say above the lights if you change to fiberglass fenders? Anyone know if it would not work for a fact or if it has been done before?

Have you seen the sensors? They're pretty damn large so I doubt they would properly fit up there. Not to mention that it would likely throw the calibration all off.

As of now I don't know of anyone successfully relocating the sensors anywhere.

fair enough, maybe right above the bumper, i was just curious if you could pull it off with fiberglass fenders because the main issue i see with relocating it is that the bedsides are metal and the only other plastic thing is the lights

I was hoping someone was going to make a custom tail light with it integrated but seems like a long shot. It actually seems like size-wise it would work approximately where the reverse lights are.

@Apogee Offroad has a bumper that is compatible with BSM and supposedly are working on a HC and swing out version.

Pretty sure that’s the compromise with keeping BSM for now.

i think i will be until a relocation but i dont know if many people care all that much, and to be honest i dont much either but if im going to end up replacing the bedsides with fiberglass it should work... and if im doing work in there for onboard air then i might as well try it, but i figured id ask if anyone has done it yet before i try.

is there anything in particular to deal with when removing them? in terms of codes and the like? or is it just as simple as leaving the BSM switch off and terminating the leads?

Simple as the latter. If I was younger and had more time on my hands, I would get the prism, a copy of techstream, and play around with calibration of alternate mounting points. I think you might need a metal back plate of some sort for the radar to work correctly. I believe I remember reading somewhere that the front radar needs to be a certain distance off of the radiator to work.
